  • Almost Heaven, West Makaha

"I stayed at this rental for 39 days. During that time my wife and daughters were visiting me on and off. All 6 of us (not at the same time) have wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. The condo is a gated resort. Exactly as Gene advertised, as is his condo. Pool was never crowded, nor were the grills. The flora is photo worthy and well maintained. Bougainvillea, ti plants, red ginger, plumeria, and bird of paradise are everywhere. Of course I can't forget to mention the peacocks. Each night at sunset we headed to the beach to watch it set, and take a lot of photos. With the beach nearby and Mt Ka'ala in your face it is what dreams are made of. This is not the part of the island where Jurassic Park was filmed but it certainly will remind you of that. Makaha Valley Towers was a very long commute for me to drive everyday but I loved it. I've stayed in Waikiki before and the crowds of tourists are not for me. Makaha is country, and the true Hawaii. Hiking to Kaena point is a must for anyone who can do the level hike. The highly endangered Monk Seal thrives there. Each trip to the point we saw one or two. Another memory noe of us will forget."

  • Lovely Place to Chill Out

"We had a lovely stay in Haleiwa -the house was very comfortable and the location perfect. Sitting on the porch every day watching the boats at the Marina. The town for shops, bank, hardware, supermarket and restaurants only a short 10 min flat walk. Bay beach and surf beach across the road - I literally swam in the bay beach with green turtles rocking up on the shore only a few metres away-no need to do a tour for this (FREE!!!) Earl next door came by to check on us and kindly dropped off mangos and bananas from his backyard plus also took down a couple of coconuts and opened them for us. Wendy our contact was extremely helpful even after I bombarded her with many questions and concerns when we were booking this place from Australia- ALL GOOD - no worries future guests.. we found a nice restaurant down on the corner called "Haleiwa Joes" nice food and great entertainment (a little pricey) but who cares your on Holiday in Hawaii - Have a Mai Tai and let your cares float away. The only small thing is the twin beds in 2nd bedroom - not the size for a growing 14yr old teenager (my mistake) Aloha and Mahalo (thank you)"

  • Wonderful condo and property

"I rented this property for 1 week in July. My son got married at the Aulani and other family members stayed there and at the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Resort. Our condo was the best of the 3 and was great! The unit itself was perfect! 3 nice bedrooms and 3 nice bathrooms and a large kitchen/living/dining area and balcony exactly as represented in the photos and description. Thu was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the process and quickly responded to all of my emails and promptly and thoroughly answered every question I had! This was my best vrbo experience thus far! I will agree with other reviewers that the entire complex closes down at 9 pm and we did get a couple of requests to quiet down but nothing we didn't expect as our family visits on the balcony didn't usually end until midnight due to enjoying the beautiful Ko Olina setting. Also, I had a few issues with the Resort Business Manager, Jennise Sylva, regarding rental of the Owners Lounge for our welcome party, but other than her, everyone else at the complex was a pleasure to work with. Thank you Thu (and Patrick Park from Property Stars Management Team!) for all of your help, a beautiful unit, and for a wonderful vacation in Paradise!"
