"We were on a wedding venue quest, and for the three days we were in McCall we really didn't want to leave the property to do our work!
This is not a kitchy cabin in the woods. There are no bears or moose replicas anywhere! This is an incredible gem of mid-century style (original) with features that only a very elegant home of that era would have. Old growth natural cabinetry everywhere, radiant heat in both floors and ceilings, and true craftsman touches throughout. Then there are the two guest suites! Set apart from the main house they feature innovative design, fantastic finishes and very modern style! And each has a full view of Payette Lake through the main house.
The Brown house is located about two blocks from groceries, coffee and the restaurants of McCall. Mile High Marina is one of our favorite places there and we could boat from the house to that fun venue in just a few minutes. For skiers, Brundage is easily accessed either by car or Brundage bus that goes from downtown.
For sure, there are a few minor quirks, but the relaxed elegance of this house made us feel so comfortable and special. For instance the hot tub has arguably the best view in McCall and the perfect beach is where we all wanted to hang out. Every night was dedicated to the lakeside patio: enjoying great music, swimming off the dock, fantastic sunsets, cooking in the amazing outdoor kitchen and beach fires in the fire pit.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property to those who have an appreciation for design, history and location, location, location! The best!"
