  • Wedding weekend family retreat

"The Laclede house worked great for our family's wedding weekend lodging, with the actual wedding at The Big House in close proximity. The 5 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths gave us more than enough space for 8 adults and one toddler to get ready for the wedding. And the living room, dining room and kitchen were very welcoming and large enough for the rehearsal dinner. The kitchen is huge and very well equipped with cooking essentials and enough cups, glasses and silverware to supply our family. The gas fireplace was cozy, this being a winter wedding in January. However, we couldn't use the hot tub as I had hoped because it was located under the deck, and ample amounts of melting snow and ice were steadily dripping on the hot tub. We were very happy with the accommodations and recommend it a larger group of people.... winter or summer. I gave it a 4-star rating instead of 5 because the propane tank was empty the morning of the wedding due to previous renters using up all the propane in the sub-zero temperatures. We managed to find the correct fuel company by reading information on the tank , called them on a Saturday, and had a fuel truck at the house within 2 hours filling up the tank. We referred to it as an adventure. I'm sure the tank will be checked after this before the arrival of winter guests. All in all, I would rent this house again for a family gathering."

  • Great location, great rental, great town!

"This condo had so many things that I was looking for over the long weekend! Being on the water, there were an abundance of birds and several water activities such as kayaking, canoeing and swimming. It is a short walk to the local brewery, winery, coffee house (Monarch Mtn), and grocery store. Plus, it is right in the middle of miles of bike/run paths and bike friendly streets---so bring your bikes! You can download the bike path map for Sandpoint on Google. The running, swimming, birding, and biking are amazing in Sandpoint---and this condo puts you right in the middle of it all! The condo interior was well decorated and very clean!!"

  • Summertime with Family

"Our family stayed at the float for 2 nights (wish it had been longer). We had a really great time. We were 4 generations and EVERYONE enjoyed the stay. They really thought of everything. The deck with the gorgeous views, the canoe and pedalboat, the fishing poles and BarBQue. Everything there for our pleasure! The house really felt like home. Soooo comfy! Everything we needed for a truly wonderful stay. We would love to come again in the Fall to enjoy the fireplace and Fall colors!"

  • Well built, great kitchen and fireplace, no wifi/TV

"This was a lovely house. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, comfortably firm mattress, luxury baths, cozy radiant floor heat, and easy on gas fireplace. Owner very responsive. Be prepared to make coffee in a Moka or coffee press. Be aware that the tv is present but set up to connect to a computer to show videos rather than to cable or satellite dish, and no wifi. If you don't need to be connected or can bring your own wifi this shouldn't be an issue. Location was one mile or so from center of town, just down the street from local athletic club ($13 per use fee) and on convenient back route to skiing. Train tracks are very close but in general no whistles because the nearest crossing is elevated---we could hear the trains but it was not intrusive and did not feel the house vibrate as we have at other rentals in the area. We enjoyed the house and would rent again."
