  • Best Birthday Get Away Ever...

"Ive rented from Lori and Derrick previously and they are GREAT!!! They are one of the few homes listed that will actually allow people to have gatherings at the home. Myself and my brother rented the home for a b-day/super-bowl party. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME!! The house had everything we needed plus some. There is ample space for everyone to spread out and not be on top of each other. The house is clean and very inviting. I felt right at home. Even though I had rented before, Derrick still took me around the house and showed me the upgrades they had made. When I need a large space again.... THIS HOUSE WILL ALWAYS BE MY #1 PICK IN CHICAGO."

  • A seamless transformation from your home to this home

"To live in this home you don't feel for a moment that you're in a stranger's house but in your own or a family member's house. The neighborhood is the best you can find in Oak Park. For Frank Lloyd Wright lovers, don't be surprised to see his legacy spread there as you drive around. Mr. Rob is a great host and he's on top of everything and there for you when you have questions or need anything. The piano I enjoyed playing when back from day-trips. The windows do not have screens but the front and back door do, so if you want a breeze in summer those are your choices, however the window AC unit in the dining room is set to automatic and turns on when the house heats up. (You can also manually turn it on or off). There were no curtains or privacy shades in the small bedroom so I used sheets to cover up the light to sleep as I'm sensitive to light as I sleep. There are many perks in this house including a nice Foosball in the basement and a nice large backyard. I'll recommend this house to anyone who likes historic homes in a historic neighborhood with modern amenities in the kitchen etc."

  • Overall, the property is clean and well maintained in a great location.

"The location is the best feature of the property. A short walk to the L train and be in downtown Chicago in 15 to 20 minutes. Within two to three blocks there are a few of amazing restaurants (Maya Del Sol, Citrine and Cucina Paradiso). The beds were comfortable with plenty of space, particularly in the master. The 2 1/2 baths were clean and well lighted. Our grand children appreciated the books and puzzles left in the living room; a very nice touch. Areas for improvement include: 1) A larger central air conditioning unit would help cool the third floor better. 2) Many of the cups and dishes were chipped. You might consider replacing. 3) For our purposes it was a bit pricey, because it was only the two of us most of the time. Overall, we would recommend the property. The owners (Woods) are terrific and very helpful."

  • Excellent!

"The house is beautiful and is in excellent condition. There was five of us, my husband and I and our three grown children and we had plenty of space. The kitchen is very nice with all new appliances and all the dishes/utensils you would need. The location is also very good. There are many restaurants in La Grange that are in easy walking distance. Also very convenient to most parts of the Chicago area as it is close to the highways and the train. Chris and Susan were great hosts and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again."
