  • Great cabin in the woods

"We stayed with my parents and our two kids at this great cabin. The cabin is very nice. The kitchen is full of dishes, pots, pans, and any kitchen utensil you could need. There is a great deck with a hot tube and grill off the back off the house that overlooks a river. It's a great place to spend some time. There is also a big yard with a nice fire pit and some playground stuff which is on the small side but works well enough. The beds and furniture are nice too. The downsides are that the water has a sulfur smell to it so we only drank bottled water, the dishwasher always falls off the tracks (a minor nuisance really), and you can always hear cars on the highway (also not that big a deal). There's also a train going by every few hours which I liked, but it might bother some people. If they fixed the water smell thing it would be as close to perfect as makes no difference."

  • Beautiful and well equipped vacation home.

"My husband and I and our adult children rented this home overlooking Lake Michigan during the Thanksgiving holiday. The home was very comfortable, especially the large and open kitchen/dining/family room. It would be a great place to gather in the summer as there is a very nice back deck, yard, sunroom, and an upper deck with a great view of the lake. The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is that it is really just a 3 bedroom home. The fourth "bedroom" is in the basement which is in the open and has three uncomfortable hospital type beds. It would be great for older kids or teens (if you trust they won't escape out the basement door at night). The beach is just across the street and down a flight of stairs but you have a beautiful view of the lake from the house. The house was very clean and we had plenty of towels and blankets. Laundry facilities are in the basement as well as a Fuse Ball table and a ping pong table. The house is close to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful."

  • Wonderful choice for a family gathering!

"We knew that this rental would have the bed space we would need to bring our far flung family together. But we were delighted at how spacious and lovely it really was. This is relatively new construction that is well built and well maintained. There were open areas that were so comfortable for gathering and visiting. The screened porch got a lot of use from first coffee in the morning into the night. We were lucky with weather and were able to have a bonfire almost every evening in the yard. Lots of wood was supplied. The bikes in the garage got used regularly. There was nothing that we wanted for. We did find the walk to the beach was too much for many family members, a combination of age and heat, but with purchase of a state park pass we used cars to shuttle people back and forth. If the opportunity arose we wouldn't hesitate to return!"
