  • Stunning setting, stunning house

"We spent a week at the dream retreat with my extended family, for a family reunion of sorts. It was a great week, from the first moments coming into the house, getting a tour with the owner, to the amazing sunrises and sunsets from the hot tub, to the sound of the wind howling and waves crashing on the shorline. The house is an amazing piece midwest architecture, with amazing natural light, seclusion, and the beds on different levels. We loved using their tablet directory to map out our hiking and beach walks and find great restaurants, shopping, and fun things to do in the area. Jim and his wife are kind and amazing people who went above and beyond to make sure everything was great. Thanks so much!"

  • Wonderful two weeks in Miller Beach

"We had a great time at this house in Miller Beach and highly recommend it. First of all, the house was great. It was 2 blocks from Randolph beach, with easy access. Second, the house had everything you needed. We really didn't need to bring anything in terms of towels, kitchen supplies, paper towels, etc. It really had everything you could want. Plenty of space with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a bonus basement area that the kids could take over. The outdoor space was nice and we often ate meals on the lower deck. Neighbors were nice and the area was quiet. Miller Beach was great. It's not very touristy and sometimes i wished for an ice cream shop... but the beach is beautiful, the train to Chicago is easy, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is right next door, some good pizza and a couple restaurants you can walk to... Movies, grocery, Marquette Park and other necessities are close by. But the beach is the draw! Feels like an ocean but with fresh water. Kids can swim as the bottom is sandy and shallow. Albert was easy to work with, flexible and very helpful. We hope to come back and would definitely stay here again."

  • Peaceful spot for family getaway

"This home was a wonderful spot for a restful getaway for my family. The house was very clean and the owners had thought of every detail. I actually over packed not knowing that so many extras would be there: the were nightlights, portable lanterns (flashlights), some kids' sand toys and the kitchen was well stocked. We wanted to enjoy the outdoors and beach as much as possible so we cooked each day so as not to have to go out and try to find a place to eat and wait etc. and everything we needed was available. The owner was very friendly and met us upon arrival to show us the property and answer any questions. The pictures don't do the house justice -- its a quaint mid-century design with some fun, funky features. Plenty of space. The beds were all comfortable. The location is wonderful: step off the driveway and pass 2 or 3 houses and you're at the path to the beach. With younger kids and stuff to tote, the short walk was ideal. We enjoyed the beach and water every day. We visited both the National Park (West Beach is very close and there are many spots to hike and great dune walks ) and the State Park (the 3 Dune Challenge was definitely challenging but worth it) and spent time on the neighborhood beach each afternoon. The beach was very nice, soft sand and not crowded. We returned to the house to clean up (ground level bathroom/shower was so nice to clean up the kids as soon as we got inside) and have dinner and walked to see the beautiful sunset each evening. The residential neighborhood was very quiet, even on a busy holiday weekend. We would recommend this property and would stay here again. It would be fun to have a longer stay and take the train in to Chicago for a day."
