Modern, very clean cabin with all the amenities of home in a very peaceful setting. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to the orchestra of birds and insects, watching amazing sunsets. Located close to charming small towns, wildlife preserves, state forests and state parks where you can enjoy an abundance of outdoor activities. An easy, relaxing drive from our home only 2 hours away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Feel very refreshed, exactly what we needed.

A lovely, very clean and well equipped tiny cabin for 2 on beautiful property! Private and peaceful!

Our stay at Scout Cabin was wonderful! The cabin is small but has most everything you need. The kitchen amenities listed are a sink, mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot; all of which were there and in good working order. It was a nice surprise to find a hot plate and skillet. We expected to have to eat cereal for breakfast every day, since the only cooking you can do is on the grill. So we went into town and found a nice little market with a good deli and got some supplies and breakfast fixings. (The mini fridge is a very nice size for a weekend of groceries!) The grill is gas and does also have a side burner. Remember to bring your own dishes and silverware, including utensils. There are some left over paper and plastic goods from previous guests but that's it. Some hot pads, a cutting board, sharp knife and grill utensils would be a welcome addition to the kitchen amenities. The bathroom has an incinerating toilet. Use a liner EVERY time. It does have a small odor and heats the room a little but it really isn't a problem and we liked that it was eco friendly. They had a little baggie with extra toiletries you may have forgotten. How thoughtful! The shower has great water pressure and a tankless heater so it never runs out of hot water. I'm picky about bathroom cleanliness and it was top notch, A+! The bed is comfortable enough and it was nice to have different pillow firmness to choose from. Excellent working AC and fans in both rooms kept the place cool because with no trees to shade the property it bakes in the afternoon. As for the property- WOW- lovely prairie with deer, birds, butterflies and sounds of nature all day and night. It's a little walk from the parking lot to the cabin too. That offers great privacy but poses a challenge if you aren't ambulatory. The pond is stocked and we caught fish both days we went. It was great for us novice anglers. John, you have a little piece of Heaven here and we can't wait to return! Thank you for your hospitality!
