"We had a wonderful stay! The views of the lake and Chicago skyline are gorgeous and we enjoyed watching the sunsets each night. The waves during stormy days were also impressive. We enjoyed multiple hikes in the area and also walked to the park each day (5-10 minute walk) for the kids to play while the adults played tennis and basketball. The house is spacious and well appointed. We found everything we needed during the month we rented the home. The kitchen is stocked with just about anything you'd need with top of the line appliances. The game room downstairs is full of fun (foozball, pool, air hockey, golden tee, darts) and there is a ping pong table outside. There are plenty of board games to enjoy as well. Peter (owner) was great to work with and communicated very well with us. He addressed any questions or requests very quickly. He also spent time giving us recommendations on things to do in the area. Peter certainly cares about his guests and their experience in the home. I highly recommend this property for a wonderful stay with family or friends, or as a peaceful getaway to enjoy some nature."

  • Great Rental for Culver Parents' Weekend

"Our family enjoyed this cute house for Culver Parents' Weekend. Michelle was great to work with. We really appreciated the excellent communication. Everything went smoothly with the rental. The house is in good condition. It's basic, but suited our needs. Note that the stairs to the second floor bedrooms are very steep. (I am giving it 5 stars because the home is as described, but the stairs may be an issue if someone with mobility issues is expected to use the upstairs bedroom(s).) My parents, who are in their 60's, were with us so we gave them the bedroom on the ground floor to avoid them going up and down the stairs. We loved this home's proximity to everything in Culver and loved working with Michelle. It was a good value for the price. I would stay there again."

  • The Best Rest Ever

"2 Burned out Moms and 2 tired daughters found refuge in this beautiful property. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The home is spotless and its obvious who ever built this home was a perfectionist. The girls (in their 20's) were delighted to have their own sleeping suite downstairs. We loved that we each found our quiet place...front porch, back porch, pool and little patio off the lower deck. It was peaceful. We floated in the lovely pool, chatted for hours under the Pergola, read books, cooked good food and barely left the place! There was a brief afternoon of outlet shopping, eating lunch out and a nice wine bar....but honestly, we loved this place so much we just cacooned for the week. The home is very well equipped and you will lack for nothing while there. The beach is close to take in some beautiful daughter is a runner and found it a great place to run. The beds while in great shape were a little firm for our old bones...but a quick trip to Walmart for a foam topper fixed us right up.....the girls of course slept like princesses. We would definitely come back to this Oasis. Owners were wonderful to work with."

  • Fantastic property, but not for us!

"Upon arrival, we actually met Pam; she couldn't have been sweeter or more helpful! All of our interactions with her and Dan were wonderful, and the Cottage was very reasonably priced. Our issue came from the slants of the driveway and walkway to the pier both triggering my wife's vertigo horribly! She simply couldn't relax while we were there, and the picturesque view and clean air just couldn't make up for the frayed nerves of always being at an angle. So we packed it up after one night and left; my Mother in Law took the rest of our unused time, and she had a blast! So again, I highly recommend and give 5 stars without a second thought, but we will not be returning here. For anyone without vertigo issues, though, I highly recommend the Red Cottage! Troy"
