  • End of Summer

"Enjoyed our three week stay! We had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. It was a pleasure watching the wildlife and the ever changing view of the lake from sunrise to sunset. The WiFi is best around the kitchen or outside near the entrance. Went kayaking, but saw others paddle boarding, boating, jet skiing, fishing, or just taking walks. We were so busy seeing relatives, there was no chance to use the fishing poles available. While in the area we went to a county fair, a festival, high school football games, saw hot air balloons, ate wonderful Amish meals, shopped, and picked up some delicious seasonal fruit (from Corey Lake Orchards in Michigan). Thanks to the owners for allowing us to bring our pet, and for answering text questions a couple times! Hope to come back."

  • Family Gathering!

"We came to South Bend for a family wedding at the Basilica and wanted a place large enough to host our adult children and spouses as well as us. Well, this definitely fit the bill! We have rented homes before for other out of town events and as our children repeatedly told us over the weekend - we outdid ourselves with this one! The furnishings are top of the line and the decorating was exquisite. It is within walking distance to the ND stadium and the Joyce Center where the wedding reception was held. There were 12 of us and at no time did we feel cramped. Brigid was great to work with and couldn't be sweeter. We hope to be able to have another family get together here soon. You will not be disappointed if you are fortunate enough to stay here."

  • Our 3rd visit for a family reunion and the place gets better every time! Even had a wedding.

"We've stayed in several rental houses and cabins for our 25-30 person, week-long gathering. We love this place best so keep coming back. Why? For one, the FULLY equipped kitchen. It's huge (think restaurant kitchen) with giant pots, pans, bowls, etc to cook & clean up for a big group. Lots of large, open rooms and bedrooms so we never have to worry about our headcount, even when there were 38 of us. The grounds offer beautiful scenery with LOTS of space, all to our selves. Even a fish pond and golf holes. Upon every return, we find the owners Dave & Wendy (who are always very nice & helpful) have added even more amenities. We rent the main lodge and the smaller Blanche house on opposite sides of a large parking lot that can fit all our vehicles. When things get too chaotic and noisy at the main lodge, it's so nice to simply walk across the parking lot to my bedroom in the always-peaceful Blanche house. Since we had a wedding this year, with many extra overnight guests, we also rented the Grand Lodge with its very upscale "rustic" look. Had the wedding in the yard of the Grand Lodge with lovely woods for a backdrop. Had the reception in a building across the parking lot from the Grand Lodge. Wendy had staged it for a reception dinner to give those planning the reception some ideas. Then they transformed it. REALLY nice. A local restaurant supplied a buffet dinner. Elk Ridge Ranch is close to French Lick with lots of gambling & activities for those interested. Some tried mountain biking this year."

  • Another awesome vacation

"My family and I had another great vacation at the Pineapple Retreat! We couldn't believe it had already been 5 years since we had been there before and we don't know why we waited so long. The house is SO nice. They provide everything you might need including a wagon, stroller, booster seat, beach bag, beach blanket, movies, you name it! We enjoyed the pool a lot! The kiddie pool was great for my toddler. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. And we also enjoyed the Washington Park Zoo that is a 3 minute drive, if that. Thank you, again!"
