  • Great family home

"What a wonderful vacation home. Charming house large enough for our family of eleven including the dog. Everything was there to use all we had to pack was our clothes. The closet was full of clean beach towels. Garage had beach chairs, umbrella, rafts and a gas grill. The large porch was a perfect place to relax and read or nap. I didn't even need to bring a book because I found one I hadn't read in the bookcase, there was even a cookbook. The beach is truly close and the grandkids could go back and forth as they wanted. The Grand Beach community was very friendly when we walked our dog through the neighborhood and she was allowed on the beach in the morning and evening. Shopping was convienent, just a short drive into town. The owner was very quick to respond to our needs and made us feel at home. We loved it."

  • Perfect get-away

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Mod Cottage. The rooms were exactly as shown and very comfortable. We also had great communication with Kelly prior to our stay. The porch was a great place to relax and enjoy the view. The proximity to Three Oaks and New Buffalo for our destination wedding was also very convenient. We look forward to hanging out at the Mod Cottage again."

  • Clean, quaint and perfect!

"For those looking for a small cottage within a short walking distance of the beach, this is great! The cottage itself is a bit dated, but it has been nicely kept and renovated with current technology and comforts. Yes, the houses in this area are close together, but I never felt as if my privacy was being invaded. This is a nice property, as it sits off the road (giving it more privacy and quiet ambiance) and has a small yard with a fire pit and plenty of space for a pet. It also includes off-street parking, which is a major plus! The listing says that it is "parking for two," although I would question that depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Two sedans could fit in this space, but I'm not so sure about two vans. Some things to consider when renting: 1. The cottage has a full kitchen with many tools, dishes and what-nots to help you prepare meals. 2. While there are plastic blinds on the bedroom windows, there are no curtains or shades. There are shades in the living and dining area, but they are shear. This is great for brightening up the room. However, for people like me who prefer a much darker room when sleeping, you may want to think about ways to help you avoid this problem. 3. Within walking distance of the property is a big park and the Michigan City Zoo. Also within the park is a nice splash water park for cooling off. (Please check operating times before going.) 4. The beach was wonderful. Our family visited in August and the water was cool and clean. Locals and vacationers in this area were very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this property to renters."

  • Perfect house for a large group

"We rented this house for a Girl's weekend. It had plenty of beds, bathrooms and space for all of us to sit around and enjoy talking to one another. The interior is very clean and has been recently renovated. The owner is very nice and easy to communicate with. We walked to the beach one day and drove to a few vineyards the next day. Everyone was very happy with our choice of houses!"
