  • Wonderful weekend getaway...

"Castle in the Sand is the perfect spot for a getaway with friends or family. We spend most of our time together in the large kitchen/dining area and on the screened-in front porch. The property is about 30 minutes from the Warren Dunes, which Were a wonderful place to visit and explore. Being from Chicago, we were happy to find that Uber was also easily accessible. The place was very clean and had all the equipment/amenities you could need. Thank you!"

  • Clean, quaint and perfect!

"For those looking for a small cottage within a short walking distance of the beach, this is great! The cottage itself is a bit dated, but it has been nicely kept and renovated with current technology and comforts. Yes, the houses in this area are close together, but I never felt as if my privacy was being invaded. This is a nice property, as it sits off the road (giving it more privacy and quiet ambiance) and has a small yard with a fire pit and plenty of space for a pet. It also includes off-street parking, which is a major plus! The listing says that it is "parking for two," although I would question that depending on what type of vehicle you drive. Two sedans could fit in this space, but I'm not so sure about two vans. Some things to consider when renting: 1. The cottage has a full kitchen with many tools, dishes and what-nots to help you prepare meals. 2. While there are plastic blinds on the bedroom windows, there are no curtains or shades. There are shades in the living and dining area, but they are shear. This is great for brightening up the room. However, for people like me who prefer a much darker room when sleeping, you may want to think about ways to help you avoid this problem. 3. Within walking distance of the property is a big park and the Michigan City Zoo. Also within the park is a nice splash water park for cooling off. (Please check operating times before going.) 4. The beach was wonderful. Our family visited in August and the water was cool and clean. Locals and vacationers in this area were very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this property to renters."

  • Beautiful house with lots of space!

"Had a great time at this beautiful vacation spot. Quick walk to the beach, great back patio with plenty of seating and great views of the lake. Felt like I was staying at a hotel or an inn. Very clean and welcoming with towels waiting for you on your bed. 7 bedrooms with an extra twin bunk sleeps 15 easily and there are two pull out couches and two regular couches too. Although there is a regular refrigerator in the kitchen and a mini fridge in the basement I do recommend bringing some extra coolers because fridge space is limited when considering food for 15+ people. All in all we had a great time here. Maria was the person to help me through the whole process. She was very responsive and on top of her responsibilities. It was great knowing I could rely on her if I had any questions. If ever I have a large party I'll be sure to book this place again.!!"

  • Lovely property in great location

"We enjoyed our long weekend. Very easy to fall in love with the house. Everything is in great shape and labeled so no hunting for utensils, pots or glasses. Only nit is requirement to wash towels before you leave or your deposit is charged. Really? I thought it was a vacation!!!!"
