  • Serenity now

"Our family of 5 stayed at this property so that we could do a college visit at Purdue (about 30 minutes away) and go to a Purdue football game. We had a great weekend and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this rustic house on the Tippencanoe River. The outdoor deck was very nice as was the living area, which has great views of the rapidly flowing river below. It was refreshing to spend time with the family without a TV and we would like to revisit this location."

  • Wonderful home to gather for Thanksgiving

"We travelled from six different States to gather for Thanksgiving, and this home provided an excellent setting. We were 10 adults (from mid 20's to late 70's) and two 10-yr-olds, for a total of 12. The kitchen was very well stocked, and a great place for 5-6 chefs to prepare a Thanksgiving feast, if you can imagine! Mike probably supplied the best quality of kitchen supplies that we have ever enjoyed. As far as sleeping arrangements, the two 10-yr-olds ended up sleeping on our self-provided air mattresses on the floor. They slept in the master bedroom closet, which was plenty big enough for both! The only issue that came up was regarding the seating at the dining table. The property sleeps 11, but there was only seating for 6. It does state this in the listing, so this was not technically a surprise, but it is something to note. We managed our big feast by bringing in additional seating from the deck. Overall, our entire crew, from Grandma to grandkids, and everyone in between, was very, very happy to have such a clean, well appointed, warm and inviting home in which to enjoy our holiday together."

  • Cute small cottage in great enviornment

"Was looking for a short notice long weekend with kids and mother. Owners were very accomodating, the place was immaculate, small, but cute. Kids loved the pool which was well maintained. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Shafer for a day and loved the fire pit, neighbors and beach!"

  • We absolutely loved it!!

"We rented the Shitake cabin and our friends rented the other one. From the moment we arrived, Ed greeted us and gave us a welcoming tour. He had all sorts of goodies for our stay from handmade cookies, Apple pecan bread, fresh fruit, and wine. He even made a delicious pineapple cake for the birthday girl. There was his and her robes also waiting on the bed. The property and the views are amazing! He offers so much to do from bike riding, canoes, fishing, archery, skeet shooting, golf, bean bags, swings, hammocks, etc... we had a blast. Ed really goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. We look forward to going again. We totally recommend. It's a hidden gem. So relaxing!! Had a wonderful time."
