"We loved every minute of our weekend stay at On Mississippi Ridge! We were celebrating our anniversary with a rare weekend away without our kids. We were looking for someplace quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of life, and this place really fulfilled that goal!
Despite the somewhat rainy weather, the view was still awesome, and we were able to open the windows and only hear...quiet! It was great!
The driveway to the cabin is somewhat steep...not a problem, just an FYI.
We opted not to do any cooking while we were there; there are limited choices in Ferryville (mostly bar fare...The Wooden Nickel has great burgers!), but lots of great dining options in nearby Prairie du Chien. We also ventured north to De Soto one night and to Stoddard one night for eating out.
We also visited Cabela's in PdC and spent some time touring Villa Louis (very cool if you are a history buff) in PdC. Had the weather been nicer, we probably would have visited Effigy Mounds in nearby Marquette or taken a trip to one of the nearby apple orchards. But, it was somewhat rainy the entire time we were there so we skipped the outdoor activities this time around.
We found the cabin to be very clean, comfortable, and perfect for hanging out for a weekend. It does have satellite and wi-fi as well, if you are worried about being disconnected!
The owner was super receptive to all of my questions, returning all emails very quickly with very friendly manners.
Highly recommend this place and really hope to make a return visit!"
