  • Lots of space!

"Our family of 8 adults and two dogs had a delightful weekend at this house. The view was lovely from the back deck and inside there was more than enough room for all of us to stretch out and enjoy ourselves. The ping-pong table came in handy on rain mornings, as did the spacious table in the kitchen for board games. The grill was large and worked great. Good beds, plenty of towels, fairly well stocked kitchen - we settled right in an had a great time. Not too far from both Jamestown Dock and State Dock. Quiet neighborhood for walking."

  • Terrific!

"Very clean, all updated, nicely decorated, comfortable. Located at the entrance to the state park, about four miles from the State Dock. Kids loved the pool and community center. Quiet neighborhood. The wifi is run by the condo association and isn't functional from this unit. You can get internet access by the community center but there is little bandwith, though enough (I'm told) to catch Pokeman. New AC unit quietly kept us cool, and the controls were (surprisingly) easy to figure out. Laundry facilities are in the community center; old but work well, take quarters. We stayed for two weeks. Lake Cumberland is the big attraction, and it is massive. The water is clean, clear, and incredibly warm. Other things to do include visiting the U.S. Hatchery (4 miles, and it's free), going on a short horseback ride and playing on the small miniature golf course. The restaurant at The Lure Lodge, also located in the State Park, has a fantastic view of the lake and reasonable prices. Though it has a menu, it's really a buffet place. There isn't really "fine dining" in the area. Notwithstanding what we read on the internet, the area is not "dry", though you might want to bring your supplies with you as beer and wine are extremely expensive there. I did not see any liquor for sale in stores, but there are places that sell mixed drinks. The Jamestown Tap, located at the Jamestown Dock (across the bay from the State Dock) is a fun place to eat, both inside and on the water. That was my favorite restaurant we visited. For boat owners, there is a large ramp on the way to the State Dock to put your boat in. Trailers are not allowed on the downhill road leading to the State Dock, since there's a lot of traffic and no where to turn around. You can park your vehicle and trailer at the ramp, for free. The State Dock will rent you a slip ($25 per night for small boats) which is convenient. That $25 per night can add up, but with just me and two kids for most of the time I really didn't have a choice. Parking at the State Dock is extremely limited but there are several designated lots close by; free shuttles run all day and evening. We never waited more that a couple of minutes and frequently the shuttle was waiting for us as we were parking. If you are at the ramp, you have to call a number at the State Dock for pick up. Also, Mammoth Cave is really awesome. The owner was very responsive to requests and immediately returned security deposit."

  • Great Family Vacation

"We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at this cabin. The view of the lake and the stars were amazing. Launching the boat was quick and easy and there were several marinas close by. The cabin was very clean and the owners were very accessible and attentive to our needs. This was our first trip to Cumberland and I would absolutely rent this house again. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away."

  • Great location near State Dock, nice pool, everything as advertised.

"Enjoyed a great weekend stay with my family. Perfect location if you enjoy the State Dock/State Park area. Access to very nice swimming pool (9ft deep end with diving board) and other amenities. Everything was exactly as advertised. This is not your rustic cabin with a fireplace and all that thing, but if you are looking for someplace clean, convenient to the lake with some great amenities that allows you to maximize your time on the water or outdoors in general this is a very nice place to stay."
