  • Fabulous weekend getaway with friends!

"A group of old friends from Juneau, AK reunited at this beautiful country farm house for the Kentucky Derby weekend. We were amazed at the affordability of the house, given it's size (two-story, 3-bed, 3-bath) and impressive landscape. This house is an easy day drive to several bourbon distilleries, including into Louisville for the Derby. Neighboring towns Lebanon and Bardstown have nice, quaint restaurants, tap rooms, and clothing boutiques for those who enjoy shopping. Caron Tucker is a wonderful hostess - she was most helpful with directions to nearby attractions/restaurants and made our group's stay comfortable and easy. I cannot wait to return to this area for a longer stay to explore more of the country and enjoy this home again!"

  • Fun 50th Anniversary Getaway!

"We just returned from a wonderful weekend of fun with my parents, two brothers and sister-in-laws, and their 5 children. In all, we had 10 adults (ages 16-71) and 5 children (ages 23 months-12 years) and we all had a wonderful time! We were celebrating my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary, and coming from Indiana, North Carolina, Illinois, and Arkansas, we needed something centrally located, and this was just the place. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms, and the kitchen was perfect. We cooked and ate most of our meals there over 3 days, and everything we needed for the prep was found, with the exception of a mixer...not sure if we just overlooked it, but we never found a mixer. I mashed 10 lbs of potatoes by hand, and it worked out just fine. On Saturday afternoon most of the crew went to Mammoth Cave and a few went to the Shaker Village, and both groups seemed pleased with their activities. Cass, the in-town manager, was great! She walked us through the home showing us what we needed to know, and when we asked about the festival that was in town that weekend, she emailed me the information when she got home. We never had to bother her for anything during our stay, but it was fun to run into her at church on Sunday morning! If the needs of our family gathering find us looking in the southern Kentucky area again, we won't hesitate to check on the availability of this home again, it was great!"

  • Lake House

"Great lake house on the water with a gradual slope to water. Lake lot was back in a cove off the main water which really nice. No water traffic or rough waters. Neighbors were great and very accomodatiing with answering questions and assisting my father-in-law (age 84 young) in getting him back to the house from the boat dock. First visit to Lake Barkely and it will go down in our "good experience" memory book and a great fishing experience as well. Owner was easy to work with."
