  • Unique cabin, fun stay

"We had a wonderful time during our 2 night stay in Glaucomys Suite. The cabin is very unique and there is so much detail in the structure and layout. We loved the style of the kitchen and had fun cooking meals on the gas stove. Toilet took a little getting used to, but was not as bad as we anticipated. The drive up to the cabin was comparable to off roading. We would recommend having 4 wheel drive, however there were many 2 wheel drive cars up there at other cabins. Other cabins were near, but they were not in sight and we never heard anyone else during our stay. The back porch was perfect for sitting and drinking coffee in the morning. On the down side, we were disappointed that the cabin was not clean. It was in need of a deep cleaning and this is what we would expect when there is such a high cleaning fee you are required to pay. Another area of disappointment was the apparent renovations being done on the cabin ( several large dry wall patching throughout the main living area.) This would not have bothered us if we were informed prior to our stay. We did have problems getting into the cabin when we first arrived, however we were able to get ahold of the owners right away and they were very helpful. If you are looking for a quite get away this would be a good place to go. We love the Red River Gorge area. Recommend eating at Miguels Pizza as well as the Sky Bridge Station."

  • Wonderful family vacation spot!

"We were looking for a place to have our first family vacation with our adult children and new granddaughter and this was the perfect home to pick! We had never been to the area and were so happy with how beautiful the lake, land, and scenery were, and to top it off with such a beautiful home to use as our base was wonderful. We would recommend renting their boat, so easy to use, and so convenient. Easy to get to the dock since there is a concrete sidewalk. One day had sunrise, brunch, afternoon and sunset cruises! Marina was close to get gas and other supplies for boating. Groceries just a short 15 minute drive to town. Sister in law and her family came later in the week staying at the resort next door. Couldn't have been more convenient for us to hang together. We are already talking about next year! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!😎"

  • On the farm!

"Our whole family was so happy to stay at this beautiful house on a farm! Our children are ages 16, 18, 20, and 22. Comfortable beds and three full bathrooms made it perfect for us. We enjoyed solitude and walks along the tree-lined lane and other farm paths. We saw beautiful sunsets and a beautiful night sky of stars. Highlights of our time include some things that our host, Caron, suggested; a tour of a barrel factory and attending an Amish fruit and vegetable auction. We hope to come back!"

  • A great place for a family vacation!

"Our grown children and our grandchildren had a wonderful week on Lake Barkley with us thanks to the use of this very nice home! It is very spacious and, even tho the weather was very warm and humid, the house was an excellent area for all of us to gather for meals, sleep and visit! The sunroom turned out to be the favorite area for the little ones to play. I would like highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys being around the water. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and view!"
