  • Amazing Log Cabin In A Perfect Location In Banner Elk

"My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cabin over the weekend and we absolutely loved it. Words cannot accurately describe it. The craftsmanship is amazing. The massive logs and the unique stairway is beautiful. It is furnished with everything you would ever need and very clean. It is in a perfect location and very private but still close to everything. Toni the owner is very nice and helpful and had all questions answered that we may have had before arrival. She was very quick to answer emails and my texts. We highly recommend this little piece of heaven and we will definitely be back. This is the perfect place to stay in Banner Elk. You will love it ! Donnie & Janice"

  • Great location, Comfortable Stay

"This location is great! The view of the river is even better than the pics show. We didn't have time to use any of the water "toys", but will definitely try to do so next time we return. Sylvia has made this room and bathroom a very comfortable oasis for her guests. She supplies cold water in the mini fridge, along with ice trays in the freezer. There's a great coffee maker, pair of coffee cups, pairs of bowls, plates, and silverware, and even two beach towels. The bed is very comfortable. As to the train that goes by often, we barely heard it while in the room. Sylvia does supply a noise maker for those who might still be bothered by the train. Sylvia is so nice and it was fun to hear her stories, a very lovely lady! She gives you a tour of the back yard and two decks on the water, but then gives you all the privacy you want. She made herself available for our stay, but we didn't need anything because everything was already supplied! We walked from the house to the Bobcat Stadium for the Texas State vs UofH football game. Super easy walk! We also walked from the house to Downtown. If walking to Downtown on Hopkins St, note that there is no sidewalk on the south side of Hopkins, but there is on the north side. It's not easy to cross over to the north side of Hopkins,'s a very busy street. We'll definitely be returning to Sylvia's oasis in the heart of San Marcos!"

  • Beautifully appointed spacious home - away from home!

"Our family (4 adults and 2 children) stayed at this beautiful home during a recent trip to Salt Lake City. We were greeted with a welcome card, cookies and a bottle of wine! The house was clean and well appointed with everything you might need during your stay. It was a wonderful choice for us as we needed to commute into SLC early every morning. Everyone had enough room to spread out and get ready quickly in the morning. The owner provided OUTSTANDING service to us, answering all of our questions and making sure our stay was delightful. While this was our first trip to SLC, we hope it won't be our last. We would certainly choose this home again!"

  • The Dormie House was better than advertised.

"We had a very pleasant one week stay at the Dormie House . The house itself was much bigger than we expected . There is a large living room , dining room ,kitchen in addition to the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the surprise was the glassed in ,air-conditioned front porch that had another dining table as well as a sitting area . The home was fully equipped with all of the kitchen utensils, dishes, the linens were all in excellent condition, and there was an adequate supply of extra towels, blankets, pillows . Also there is a laundry room with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board . The house was a half block from the beach and it was tucked under the large oak trees on a quiet road .We had quiet and solitude and felt very comfortable . The location is convenient to the rest of the coast, Gulfport ,Biloxi and more restaurants ,casinos and is about an hour drive to New Orleans .There is an abundance of good restaurants from Bay Saint Louis to Biloxi .We did certainly enjoy staying here and would recommend this property .It would be excellent for a family with children .
