  • A gem, tastefully appointed with an excellent host

"This place exceeded our expectations. I was coming into Grand Rapids for a conference and decided to make it a long girls weekend away. It is truly walking distance to everything Grand Haven has to offer. Having the essentials, toilet paper, shower towels, bed linens was an awesome touch and so uncommon in the VRBO world. The host was available but not annoying for a very personalized stay. Loved Snug Harbor across the street and the Morning Star breakfast cafe. Both served delightful food well within walking distance of the condo. The pier was under construction during our stay, but the walk to the beach along the boardwalk was not affected. It was super cool to watch the sunset and big barges float into the mainland from the balcony. Will stay again!"

  • An excellent place to stay for a vacation or Notre Dame game

"We stayed at the blue cottage this past weekend because we needed a place that would accommodate four adults and three large dogs over the Notre Dame football weekend. I stayed back at the cottage to babysit the dogs while the others went to the game. Although it could have been boring to stay behind, I enjoyed a very relaxing day at the cottage. The dogs and I spent time on the deck, looking out at the pretty lake and enjoying the sunny weather. We took walks and jogged around the neighborhood. The Internet connection was good and they had cable. If we had more time, we could have taken one of the boats out on the lake. The house was charming and super clean. The kitchen has a gas stove and is stocked with dishes and pots and pans etc. The master bedroom and nicely sized bathroom is on the first floor. Two bedrooms (one with bunk beds) are upstairs. We ordered pizza from a very nice local place and if we had time, would have tried some of the restaurants that are nearby (Cams and Fireside). We enjoyed having drinks on the deck in the evening. The owners ask that you clean before leaving, which we (mainly my daughter) did, and she received her cleaning deposit back on the same day that we checked out. We agreed that we will stay at the blue cottage the next time we go to ND to see a game. Thanks so much to the owners for our great weekend. 😀"

  • Nice cottage

"My family enjoyed our stay at the cottage and Higgins lake. Cottage is rustic, but clean, fully furnished, and location is great. The beach area is shallow and nice for kids; fire pit and free wood was awesome; large lot across the street. Plenty of things to do around the area...hiking, fishing, golfing, canoeing and tubing along the Au Sable , boat rentals,...or just read a book on the dock. Some nice restaurants in Roscommon village. There is a "small" street between the cottage and the lake...but it's just a typical subdivision street...not busy, with people walking their dogs and driving their golf carts...there is very light car traffic...it was not a problem for us. Would consider staying there again!"

  • Modern and Well-Maintained in Bridgeport

"This well-maintained, modernly decorated home is spacious and was very comfortable for our party of 9 adults. The home does not share walls with its neighbors, meaning there was less worry about our late-night conversations bothering anyone. The home has the feel of a traditional Chicago bungalow, while being multi-level and much bigger. While the neighborhood is somewhat isolated by the highway and rail line at the north end of Bridgeport and not really within walking distance of attractions, we found an excellent restaurant a very short car-ride away, and we can't imagine a taxi or ride-share would cost all that much. Overall we found the residence perfectly suited our needs and felt like home as soon as we walked in."
