  • Very well cared for, plenty of space, good location

"This property is very well cared for, and most importantly to me, CLEAN. More than enough towels and any kitchen appliance/utensil you could need. Two stall attached garage was a nice plus. We stayed with another family, four adults and six kids ranging in age from 8-16 and there was plenty of room for everyone to relax and spread out. Entry off garage is the laundry area but also what I would call a "mud room" - plenty of rugs and convenient for taking shoes off and not having to track into the house, we also used it for our ski boots every night. Short drive into Bellaire, where we always hit up Shorts Brewery for their delicious sandwiches and of course beer! About 20 min drive to Schuss Mountain. Our only disappointment was that the fireplace is apparently not currently in working order and we weren't notified in advance of this. Since it is advertised in the listing (photo of the family room mentions having a cozy fire) and it was ski season, we were looking forward to coming back in the evenings after skiing and being able to enjoy a fire. However, there is a sign stating it is not to be used. All in all, both families were impressed with the property and would consider staying again and recommending it to others."

  • Clean, well and thoughtfully furnished with a SPECTACULAR view

"We had a few days with our young adult kids (a miracle in itself!) and stayed for three nights at Lake Shore House. We arrived after dark and were excited to see the lake the next day. I woke up at 4:30 that morning to a BREATHTAKING sunrise. It was so beautiful that we purposely got up the next morning to have coffee with our kids and watch the sunrise (and then go back to bed...). Lake Shore house is close to downtown and we rode our bicycles into town on Saturday morning to get freshly picked strawberries and asparagus for our evening meal. We also bought an exquisite and HUGE bouquet of flowers (peonies, delphinium and others I can't name) for only $8. The house is decorated with Mark's original artwork, and we purchased some pieces to bring home. All in all -- it was a wonderful time."

  • Perfect

"Although we've been coming up to Door County for many years, this is our 2nd year staying here. We absolutely love it. The Jorns think of everything, from the coffee provided to the hand soaps in the bathrooms and most everything in between. The place is immaculate when you get here and all you have to do is unpack and start having fun. We will be back!!!!!"

  • Great Family Vacation

"This was the 2nd year our family met for vacation at the Birch Lake Cottage. We had a fabulous time. Jack and Judy were very accommodating. We enjoyed the lake, kayaks, fishing, etc. The numerous decks had plenty of room for the 11 of us. Plenty of room for all of us. Eating on the decks, sitting around the fire pit on the deck, watching the sun set on the lake, and just being together at this lovely home made our vacation special. Plenty of room for all of us. Thanks, Judy and Jack for sharing your family's home with us."
