  • Comfy and Convenient

"My husband and I booked this condo for a getaway weekend. Booking was easy and the property manager Carol was very responsive. The property was exactly as described and we were very happy with our choice. The condo was very comfortable and the location was perfect to walk anywhere we wanted. Carol left a helpful list of recommended restaurants and tours. The balcony, as everyone said before, was definitely the highlight of the condo. We greatly enjoyed sitting out there any time we were home. Now for the follow up. We checked out March 8th. We received a security check back from Carol shortly after. The check was for $50, it was supposed to have been $100. I contacted Carol right away and she apologized for a clerical error. There was a misunderstanding about late check out and she thought we had underpaid our balance. After sending her a copy of my records she agreed that she would send out our missing $50. This was on March 19th. Two weeks later, on April 1st, I contacted Carol via text that we had still not received the check. No response. I texted again on April 4th. No response. I emailed her on April 5th. On April 7th, we received our balance electronically via my paypal account. The lack of communication was what frustrated us. All we needed was a simple response that our check had been sent. All in all, we had an amazing weekend and the condo was great. I'm sure that our experience with the deposit was an unfortunate fluke, but it did bother us enough to rate the experience "good" instead of "excellent""

  • Perfect Place to Call Home in The French Quarter

"This was our third visit to New Orleans and our first opportunity to stay at "Down on Dauphine" and we couldn't be happier with the beautiful accommodations and the outstanding service shared with us by Brad and his staff. While the photos on line are beautiful, they still fall short of the overall comfort, charm and ambiance that is 734 Dauphine. Brad was absolutely fantastic and worked with us as we had to change our original travel plans due to medical issues that arose. He was both understanding and compassionate about our situation and made us feel special and appreciated. Our stay from 6/15/16 to 6/22/16 was truly the best time we have had while staying in NOLA and when we return, the ONLY place for us to stay is "Down on Dauphine". Brad communicated with us on numerous occasions and shared restaurant and entertainment suggestions and even made a point to call us the second day of our stay to make sure we were doing well and if there was anything he could help us with at that point. The location is fantastic and you can walk to anywhere in The Quarter or even to Frenchmen Street with little or no real effort at all. If you're coming to New Orleans do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful home. I would go as far as changing the dates of my visit to make sure I had the chance to make this my home during my stay. Thank You so much Brad for ALL you did for us and we will always make this our home on any visit to New Orleans. Gary & Kathie Anderson"

  • How to make a business trip an excellent vacation

"I had a business conference in New Orleans in late October and was accompanied by my Board Chair (Big Boss), his wife, my wife and our two havanese furbabies. After I looked at hotel prices and added parking, taxes, extra for pets, and overall hassle, the two Marigny houses (this one and the smaller in the back) hit the spot. Not only were they cheaper, all in, than the Conference Hotel, we got a ton of room, the dogs were most happy with their little compound, the houses were in great condition, well furnished, quiet, and greatly convenient to Frenchman St, the Quarter, tons of restaurants and music. My wife and I (and furbabies) took the smaller back house as the bedroom and bath were upstairs and my board chair's wife has had hip surgery and was uncertain about climbing stairs. The front house (#371457) was awesome, all kinds of space, grand kitchen built around the original wood cookstove chimney, Boss's wife spent the first two days of our stay taking pictures with her phone and sending them to her friends and family bragging about "their place in New Orleans". They really did enjoy themselves. Neither couple had any problems at all. In fact, the Krewe of Boo had their halloween parade the evening we all arrived and I had my Chair convinced that I had organized a parade in honor of his visit (until he saw the parade participants and I had to admit to exaggerating "just a little"). Wife and I have traveled using VRBO and Flipkey for almost 25 years and have always been most satisfied. This was the first time we took advantage of private rental for a work trip and I learned something....THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT. Wife wasn't stuck in a little hotel room while I was at meetings....the puppies were happy with their own yard...the place was private and quiet and still close to the music and food that makes New Orleans...New Orleans. There were a number of people at my conference who I showed photos of the property to and they were all quite jealous. Nuff said....if you have a need to be in New Orleans...this is the place to stay. I just sent off to reserve this house for Jazz Fest next year....that's how much we liked it."
