  • How to make a business trip an excellent vacation

"I had a business conference in New Orleans in late October and was accompanied by my Board Chair (Big Boss), his wife, my wife and our two havanese furbabies. After I looked at hotel prices and added parking, taxes, extra for pets, and overall hassle, the two Marigny houses (this one and the smaller in the back) hit the spot. Not only were they cheaper, all in, than the Conference Hotel, we got a ton of room, the dogs were most happy with their little compound, the houses were in great condition, well furnished, quiet, and greatly convenient to Frenchman St, the Quarter, tons of restaurants and music. My wife and I (and furbabies) took the smaller back house as the bedroom and bath were upstairs and my board chair's wife has had hip surgery and was uncertain about climbing stairs. The front house (#371457) was awesome, all kinds of space, grand kitchen built around the original wood cookstove chimney, Boss's wife spent the first two days of our stay taking pictures with her phone and sending them to her friends and family bragging about "their place in New Orleans". They really did enjoy themselves. Neither couple had any problems at all. In fact, the Krewe of Boo had their halloween parade the evening we all arrived and I had my Chair convinced that I had organized a parade in honor of his visit (until he saw the parade participants and I had to admit to exaggerating "just a little"). Wife and I have traveled using VRBO and Flipkey for almost 25 years and have always been most satisfied. This was the first time we took advantage of private rental for a work trip and I learned something....THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT. Wife wasn't stuck in a little hotel room while I was at meetings....the puppies were happy with their own yard...the place was private and quiet and still close to the music and food that makes New Orleans...New Orleans. There were a number of people at my conference who I showed photos of the property to and they were all quite jealous. Nuff said....if you have a need to be in New Orleans...this is the place to stay. I just sent off to reserve this house for Jazz Fest next year....that's how much we liked it."

  • The Best Place to Stay in New Orleans!

"Wow!!! My wife and I stayed here for four nights and I can easily say this is the best place we have ever stayed in N.O. We have stayed at "boutique" hotels, upscale hotels, and everywhere in between, but we will definitely try to stay at this house in the future. The house: An immaculate shotgun style home decorated with beautiful artwork and amazing antique furniture throughout. Beautiful hardwood floors and high ceilings plus cold air condition made it comfortable to return to after a day of tourist walking. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook or just chill. There's also a neat backyard to relax for an afternoon drink or morning coffee. The house is furnished with a washer and dryer that was very handy. It is definitely bigger than the pics show! The location: A cool neighborhood where people are very friendly. Literally 2 blocks to Frenchmen St and about a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter. Another bonus: Only one block to the bus route! We bought a 3 day bus pass for a couple of dollars that covers the bus and the streetcar lines. We got to any destination in N.O. in minutes, although our favorite area is Frenchmen St. We got to enjoy all the live music venues without the noise at home. We would definitely recommend this rental for anyone/group looking to enhance their experience in New Orleans!"

  • Great House, Great Location

"We've been coming to NOLA for Jazz Fest for the past nine years. This was our first time visiting in August and the first time staying in this section of the city. What a great location! Easy access to Frenchmen Street and the Quarter. Very walkable. As for the house, the photo's don't do it justice. It is much nicer and larger than it appears in the photo's. Larry was great to deal with: very responsive. We liked the place so much that we contemplated giving it a bad review to improve the chances that it would be available next time we visit NOLA."

  • Absolutely wonderful!

"The house was in great condition and included full functionality in every aspect. The house was beautiful and contained a home-away-from-home feel! The area was also very tranquil, relaxing, and the locals were also very friendly. I definitely suggest you request to book this spot if possible! It's about a 15 minute drive from Bourbon Street, but a cheap cab ride will take care of that issue without taking too much money out of your wallet (~$15 w/o gratuity). Overall, book this house, Larry was also very helpful with information when it was needed! 5 out of 5 NO QUESTION!"
