  • Amazing Place

"Went down for a bachelor party with 8 guys (all in our 30s), and this place was perfect. Chuck got us all set up, and the house was amazing. 7BRs and a great brick patio in the back. Location was perfect: ~ 5 min walk from Frenchmen St and ~ 15 min walk from Bourbon St. Highly recommend!"

  • Simply put exceeded all my expectations

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about the New Orleans Firehouse, simply put it exceeded all my expectations. We were amazed the moment my party walked in on how impressive it is. The Firehouse was able to blended modern style seamlessly within it's historic roots. All 7 bedrooms were large and comfortable, the upstairs living area offered a great place to gather and relax before or after going out, and the tall ceilings everywhere made it feel immense. It's best feature, I thought, was the downstairs living area. Which has two large fire doors that open creating an extremely unique outdoor space. My party spent hours sitting down there drinking, laughing, having fun all while enjoying the great weather and taking in the fun flavor of the neighborhood. Speaking of the Firehouse's neighborhood, I was very impressed with the Marigny-Bywater area. This was my second visit to New Orleans and the first time I've stayed outside the French Quarter. I felt this added to our trip making it more unique and less "touristy". The neighborhood is very lively and had a ton going itself. My group spent hours just a block west of the Firehouse at the Lost Love bar and lounge. A few blocks east of the Firehouse are some very eclectic restaurants and cafes, and a little south of it is a beautiful river walk, all nestled within a friendly, colorful neighborhood with tons of character. However if you're worried about staying outside the French Quarter, DON'T BE! With a mix of walking and Uber we never felt too far away from all the action. Of course a 110 year old building is going to have it's wear and tear. Some of the floorboards squeak, the stairs up to the second level are a workout to get up, the 110 year old lock on the master bathroom door did not work, and yes when raining there was some leakage. But not nearly to the extent some other reviews have suggested. The property manager Nancy, who was wonderful to work with, seemed more concerned about that than me. Any negatives of the Firehouse were only a minor inconvenience, this property is overwhelmingly impressive and a great place to stay. Everyone in my party would agree that our trip to New Orleans was better because we stayed at the Firehouse. We can claim our stay was a more unique, positive and different experience than anyone else because we chose this property. I hope I'm fortunate enough to one day stay there again."

  • Wonderful Place with Wonderful Hosts!!

"I am originally from Louisiana, and grew up going to New Orleans. I now live in Texas, but try to get back to NOLA as much as possible. I had admired this property for a long time on VRBO, and finally got a chance to rent it about 4 years ago. I have been back to this property 3 times now, and will continue to rent it as long as it is available! The location is perfect for my purposes-close enough to the action of the Marigny and French Quarter, but not "all up in" that action. You will not be disturbed at night as you could be closer to Frenchman or Bourbon. The property itself is great. Clean and nicely decorated, with a great back patio and hot tub. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the property owners, Ron and Mark! They are just wonderful people. Very friendly and welcoming. It is very important to keep the money I spend in NOLA in the community, and Ron and Mark live right next door, so you will be supporting the local community by renting from them, instead of outsiders from other states who buy up properties in the neighborhood as vacation rentals to be managed outside the city. Please take this into account when you are researching other properties, as well. Keeping your vacation dollars local helps the city fight outside influences that often threaten the very soul of NOLA that we all cherish. Also, I have found on other vacations that renting from someone who is not local to your stay can pose problems should you have an issue with the property or need questions answered. To sum up- This is a wonderful property with wonderful hosts, and I it is my favorite place to stay while in the city! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND."

  • Amazing house, amazing people!

"We are a group of five girlfriends and we try to take a trip every year together. We stayed at the Rampart House; this house was immaculate and the hosts were so generous and accommodating. Matt and Steve, the owners were out of the country, but he still communicated with me plenty in order to make our arrival and departure seamless. John Leader was house sitting for them and was just precious. He texted daily just to check in and to offer names of restaurants or clubs to go to. They provided water, detergent, plenty of towels....and the beds were wonderful. HUGE living area and plenty of room for a group of six. We'll definitely stay with Matt and Steve again!"
