  • Good place to stay for NOLA visit

"Went with another couple and found the house comfortable. It was very clean with modern amenities. We enjoyed having common areas to hang out, as opposed to staying in 2 hotel rooms. Be aware that there are 2 full baths, but they are both on first floor, so loft guests have to go downstairs at night to use bathroom. We didn't find this to be a problem, but assumed each bedroom had its own bath. Word to the wise....use the box fan in each bedroom or the neighborhood rooster will wake you at around 5 am. After first night, during which we learned the hard way, we weren't awakened again. Saw a few neighbors in the 4 days we were there, all of whom were very friendly. House is a tad "out of the way", though very near the Garden Disrict.and very walkable to Magazine St. UBER and LYFT are inexpensive rides to anyplace you want to go. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

  • Wonderful location for a visit to New Orleans!

"Five of us had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at Franz's wonderful house in the Marigny. The house itself was fantastic - especially the back patio area, where we spent a lot of time given that it was nearly 80 degrees during our visit! The location can't be beat - within walking distance of many excellent restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, and not far from the traditional touristy parts of the city. We really liked being in a more residential neighborhood. I can't wait to go back!"

  • Loved it!

"Beautiful and specious home. Great location. Loved the washer and dryer. Close to streetcar which you can take you to French Quarter. Seems newly renovated with nice decor. Only suggestion would be for bigger beds, but they were still comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to New Orleans."

  • Great stay, living like a local

"There are few ways to get into a city "no reservations" style. Maybe you have a friend or aunt or someone who has an extra room in NOLA. I don't. My family is all in the north. But other than knowing someone local, how do you really get a chance to see and feel a place for what it is? Simple answer: Stay here. Really, it's that simple. Go get some shrimp and grits; cook some up even> I saw more than one cookbook on the bookshelves. Then make yourself a pink lady or gin and tonic and sit on the porch and watch the people go by (there was a book about mixing drinks, too --just saying). The french quarter is less than 10minutes away on the trolley ($3 daily fare beats my city by a landslide), all of the shops and cafes of Magazine St are a daydream walk away. A year ago my daughter told me she wanted to go to New Orleans for her 16th birthday. I died of joy inside because I've been waiting for the right time to go. (My kid, I love her, she's great at this travel buddy stuff). I liked looking for hotels. It's one of the most intriguing places in the country. There are creepy hotels, historic hotels, boutique hotels, ect. This property had me at "shot gun style." It's a unique and historic style found literally only in New Orleans. There is a culture to it, a way of living. You should rent it just to find yourself sitting in the front bedroom trying to imagine how you would interact with your parents and siblings if you all lived in this house. That, my friends, is how you experience a place as it is. And I'm not sure my family would have been anything like we are (maybe not a bad thing) if we had lived this way. The owners here are kind and quiet. Helpful, but not hovering. The house is clean and cozy and shabby chic in all the right ways. We had a great stay, laughed on the porch with neighbors, and walked everywhere. I'll go again, as many times as I can. It's not hard to find a reason to visit this great city."
