  • An amazing B&B in Abbeville LA on the banks of the Vermilion River

"I hope I can in words do justice to Bayou Rose Cottage B&B to convey just what a very special place this is to visit. I've now stayed there twice. Once with my adult son and recently with my husband. It's such a special B&B. The separate fully equipped one bedroom cottage is perfect for adults wanting a 'home away from home'. A full size kitchen and living room area with sleeper-convertible couch, large bathroom with washer and dryer, bedroom with large closet and very comfortable bed. An attached covered porch and a nearby private large deck/dock on the Vermillion River provide some very special places for morning coffee and evening beverage of choice. Truly one of the most fully equipped B&Bs that I have ever found. A newly completed excellent near-by restaurant offers delicious and convenient dining with great atmosphere. A perfect morning light breakfast treat (including boudin) and a fully equipped kitchen with snacks and condiments is all part of what creates a very special 5 star experience with Anne and Mike, who are also very knowledgeable about the many nearby wonderful area attractions. I look forward to one day returning to Bayou Cottage Rose again....and again. :) Dorothy"

  • High traffic, but relaxing getaway.

"We thoroughy enjoyed our stay at the camp. Ms Connie was very nice and accomodating. Great views! We fished and crabbed and caught enough crabs to have crabs boils on two separate days during our 3 night stay. Because of the very close proximity of the bayou to the camp there were lots of critters to contend with (snakes, alligators, stingrays, rodents, etc.); All outside ofcourse! The interior was clean, neat, comfortable, and charming. Our only 2 complaints were 1) the well water: it had an extremely strong sulfur odor--almost gaging--and had many black particles that prevented us from running baths, thus forcing us to use the showers; and 2) the enormous amount of traffic up & down the road all day long until late in the night. However, neither of these would prevent us from visiting again."

  • JazzFest Annual Outing!

"JazzFest this year wasn't the greatest with exceptional amounts of rain on an almost daily basis. Luckily we had rented this Garden District gem to relax, cook and dry out! The house is centrally located between the Quarter and Tulane with great biking and nearby drinking and eating establishments of the Garden District. If you're a chef by heart, you'll love the well laid out and large kitchen. The backyard was relaxing and well used when the rain stopped. Alison, the owner, was both helpful and considerate of our needs and availed herself for any special requests. Overall, an excellent experience!"
