  • Great Clean Condo in Great Location!

"Gordon was very accessible and courteous! The condo was very clean and comfortable and there were snacks, water and beer in the fridge and toiletries in the shower in case you forgot your own! The neighborhood was vibrant during daylight hours, but quiet and safe at night. The location is close to restaurants, shopping and medical facilities. I will stay here the next time I need a place to stay in Lafayette!"

  • Excellent

"Great place to stay for a large group. There is tons of room for everyone to hang out including a large living room with bar, outdoor patio and huge game room in the back. Good location with many places within walking distance or a short car ride."

  • Truly Delightful!

"Mid-March through Mid-May, 2016, we lived in Dina's "Cute Hideaway" in Algiers Point -- and we loved it. We have 3 little dogs and made some special arrangements with Dina for their accommodation, but once we were settled in, had zero issues related to the pups. In fact, the neighbors took a shine to our dogs and liked to visit with us, (er...with the dogs!) for a while when they brought over our mail. We enjoyed getting to know both Holly and Jason. Algiers Point has got to be one of the quietest neighborhoods we have ever lived in. Besides the birds (which apparently sing around the clock) the most noise we heard was from the calliope on the Natchez steamboat, which moors directly across the Mississippi from Algiers. The ferry is within easy walking distance (about 2.5 blocks), runs on the hour from Algiers, and the quarter hour from the foot of Canal. It's two dollars each way which is a very small price to pay for essentially door to door transportation from the "Hideaway" to the French Quarter. We had our car with us as well, and so were able to drive whenever we wanted -- but keep in mind the rush hour traffic over the Mississippi bridge will set you back at least 30 minutes, so plan accordingly. During our stay the weather fluctuated from nippy -- in the 40's, to balmy/humid -- in the 80's, and we were truly delighted to have the central heating/cooling system keeping us comfortable. That's the sort of thing you take for granted, but believe me, having relied on, let's just say -- less than central HVAC in the past -- Dina's central HVAC rocks. We highly recommend Dina's "Hideaway." The neighborhood is safe, and quiet. It's really easy to take the ferry across to the Aquarium, River Walk, Quarter, and the foot of Canal. The neighbors are friendly. The HVAC works! And, Dina is responsive, generous, and flexible about "special needs." Stay here, you won't be sorry."

  • great location

"I would give this a higher rating if a few changes were made (replace old couch with a new one with a pullout bed, get rid of stained carpets, the large dinning table is a space hog and in the bedroom replace the old TV stand with a dresser). In response to previous reviews the TV and wi-fi were not working when we arrived but were fixed and working when we left on May 1st. I also left hangers in closet as there were none when I arrived. The location is great could not ask for better. Not too close to the touristy and loud Bourbon street crazyness and close to Frenchman street which has great venue and restaurants. I would highly recommend this place for a great time in NOLA. You can walk to anywhere in French Quarter and to street car for the ride to the Garden district. I would also recommend a vsit to City Park which is beautiful and huge - a hidden gem of the city. it is generally a quiet place and we never felt threaten as there is usually a lot of people walking around all times of the day; especially with the popular port of call restaurant across the street. PS the large bulky vacuum in the closet doesn't work (i tried to clean up before people came over); I would suggest get rid of it so there is more room ;-)"
