  • Modern water front home close to Acadia National Park. Fall colors beginning during our visit.

"Great location in Maine. We were able to be close to Acadia National Park, without being over whelmed by people. Surry is peaceful and quiet, lovely back roads to explore. House for us was perfect as we needed a main floor bedroom for one of our guests. Very clean, well equipped, especially the kitchen. Really enjoyed the water view in the morning and walking the beach. Thank you so much"

  • Maine at its Best!

"We were traveling through Maine and took a risk by waiting to find a place to land the very week of our stay. The risk certainly worked out in our favor! Dale and Vicki's cottage was the perfect escape at a private location. It was full of unexpected things to see and do, while also being removed enough from the traffic of Acadia. Dale and Vicki were great to work with on such short notice, including organizing an endless amount of recommendations with a condensed sample itinerary to simplify all the options. To begin our three nights we arrive just as the sun was setting, which could not have provided a warmer welcome to the amazing views. We spent the next day in Acadia and can vouch for the accuracy of Dale and Vicki's detailed recommendations for things to see, trails to hike, and places to eat. We returned back to the cottage with the plan to stay and see the change in tide at the cottage the next day. Never expecting the opportunity to get the kayak out, we found the change in tide was greater and grander than expected and gave the cottage an ever changing perspective of the cove - ultimately giving us the opportunity to get on the water, work toward the fishing/lobster boats further out in the water, and to see the area in all its Fall glory from every corner of the cove. This was one of the many amazing highlights of our time there. The uniqueness of the surroundings never stopped. Later that night we were able to relax outside and watch the 'wormers' hard at work with their headlamps bouncing through the cove. Another unexpected delight. In addition to the amazing colors of Fall, we also experienced one of the clearest starred filled nights we had ever seen. Although we say the cottage was removed from Acadia, the drive to all of the sites could not have been shorter. All-in-all, the gamble to wait til the last minute turned out to be a home run, with much of the credit going to Dale and Vicki. The only regret was limiting our stay to three nights. Thank you both!"

  • A home away from home!

"We had a great time at the home on Molasses Pond! Steps from the lake, we found ourselves on the water daily just to relax or splashing in the clear/clean water, very gradual depth from the beach. Water was always warmer than expected for spring fed lake water, even at 6:30 in the AM (a chance to read a book in the quiet and have some coffee before the kids get awake!) Awesome scenery and very enjoyable environment to get away and relax. We had next to zero cell service which is what we needed; I wanted the office to leave me alone for the week! I use AT&T but I understand US Cellular has service in that location. House was clean and everything worked as we expected, appliances, lights, TV, everything! Dale was present on the property at times and helpful but not in our way and a great host.. asking if everything was good whenever we saw him. We used the kayaks, paddle-boat, inner tube floats, life jackets, gazebo, gas grille, fire pit (plenty of firewood!), outdoor furniture - all in good order! No noise from surrounding neighbors and no safety concerns. Wish we could stay longer and we will definitely return if given the opportunity!"
