  • Beautiful lakefront home is wonderful all year long

"I stayed at this beautiful house with my family and another family, four adults and five children on New Years Eve and we had a wonderful time. We walked on the frozen lake to a lovely island, sledded down the hill and walked on the frozen roads. Inside the house was spacious enough for all nine of us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The ping pong and pool table in the basement kept our tweens occupied while the plethora of kids toys made the two year old very happy. We ate meals together at the large table and watched football in front of the fire. I'm sure this house is magical during the summer, but is equally perfect during the winter cold. Dan, the owner, was so easy to work with. He responded immediately, was flexible and helpful during each stage of our stay and gave us contact information for the handyman if we needed anything. The house had everything that we needed to cook large meals and I would recommend this house to anyone."

  • Great lake house - just 40 mins to Acadia!

"We loved our stay at the lake house! The cabin was very clean - although we would recommend a better broom/vacuum for quicker cleanup when checking out. The kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking utensils you could need. The views of the lake are beautiful - pictures don't do it justice! A few suggestions - larger tv for living room, more blankets - we used from other beds to stay warm and cozy on the couch. If possible, more living room furniture - it was perfectly fine for two people but when talking about coming back with friends or family we realized there would be a shortage of furniture for a movie night (GREAT movie selection by the way!). What we loved most about this house was its seclusion. But the neighboring properties are fairly close - one has multiple trailers and the other looks to be the start of another cabin being built. Luckily no one was home during our stay, and we're crossing our fingers for the same when we return. One last thing, we loved the convenience of a washer and dryer and having linens provided. In order to avoid a surcharge, you must wash all linens and towels before leaving. In theory, not a bad idea, but for the two of us (1 bed's linens, 2 blankets on bed, comforter, 2 extra blankets for couch, 2 bath towels = 4 loads of laundry) it took us past check out time (we started at 7am) to get all of the laundry done. Thankfully, we called the owners and they were fine with us staying past 11am to finish the laundry. Note to self: start laundry at 6am. If you use more than 1 bed...start at 5am! All in all it was a great house and we look forward to coming back again!"

  • Fantastic Family Vacation Experience

"Our family has spent several summer vacations in Maine the past few years, and the cottage on Branch Lake was our favorite destination. The house is well-loved, comfortable, immaculate and stocked with everything you ever could need. John and Kaye were fantastic. Since they were nearby, they made lots of helpful suggestions and made sure that our two boys had everything they could want for a week on the lake. We fished, used the kayaks, canoe and rowboat, had nighttime fires by the lake, and just generally reveled in being in such a gorgeous location. We very much hope to return."
