  • Simply amazing.....

"We would highly recommend Stonehill Cottage to anyone traveling to Maine. The house and property are simply amazing. From the privacy and spaciousness of the house to the relaxing waterfront and the sound of the loons..... this house has it all. We had six people on this trip and never felt crowded while we were there. Mornings were spent sipping coffee on the private dock and evenings had us gathered around the fire pit watching the sun set over Toddy Pond. In addition, the fully stocked kitchen, outdoor porch with a gas grill, the kayaks and fishing equipment all add up to make this house is as close to "home away from home" as it gets. We are looking forward to another stay there."

  • Cute secluded cottage

"Very nice quiet property on the lake. My idea of a lake house. wish we had more time to enjoy Arcadia Maine. Heather was easy to communicate with. We had such a nice time. Looking forward to rent the cabin again. Thank you Heather for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home."

  • Very cozy, clean and well equipped

"We loved the condo. There is plenty of room for two people to be comfortable, a nice dining area, full size appliances, cozy, comfortable sitting area. The love seat, chair and bed were top quality and comfortable. The location is good, half way between Bucksport and Ellsworth. The only disappointment was that with the trees and especially brush between the condo and the pond, the views weren't as nice as we had hoped. Len was very friendly and accommodating."

  • Private and perfect!!

"This is a beautiful home on a crystal clear lake in a very private setting! This home truly has everything for a relaxing and fun vacation in an absolutely beautiful location. Our family of seven spent a week here with our two dogs. The house was fully stocked, both inside and out and was spacious and easily accommodated all of us. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the water to take full advantage of all the lake had to offer. It is rare to find a home with enough watercraft to accommodate all of us- but this one did! We kayaked daily as we enjoyed the abundant wildlife around the lake. We watched an eagle soar over the water looking for dinner and we saw the herons come and go a few times. The loons and families of ducks were always present and did not seem to mind our heads bobbing in the water as they swam right past us. That was a great experience! The frogs and turtles were numerous along the rocky areas. We are a group of swimmers and were delighted with the crystal clear water. Some of us swam over to the islands alongside the kayaks and picked blueberries- which we then put in our pancakes and we even made a Bundt cake with them. The entry to the water is clear and level and the dogs were having a blast right alongside of us. Our nights started off with a fire in the fire pit along the water’s edge as we watched the moon rise right over the lake. Once back inside- some of our group headed to the ping pong table for their ongoing tournament while the rest of us picked out the nights board games. The table easily accommodated all 7 of us while we gamed into the early morning hours. Our mornings- when we did not sleep in- started with a coffee and a sunrise that was beautiful from both the dock and beach area. We enjoyed our meals on the deck while watching a large variety of birds flying among the trees. The small red squirrels were also very busy running around collecting food and chatting to us. Along the road we even saw porcupines. There was wildlife everywhere. One day we rented a pontoon boat right at Jenkins Marina- right on the lake - and we had a great time exploring the rest of lake that was out of our personal kayak range. It was about an hour’s ride to Bar Harbor and we headed there early one morning – we wanted to be sure we had enough time left to swim and kayak when we got back home! We really enjoyed our time at the house- it was private, peaceful and perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your home!!"
