  • Gorgeous home and property! Great water views

"Beautiful home that our large family enjoyed immensely! Loved the private location and kayaking in the back bay. The deck off the great room was our favorite spot to relax. Ping pong tournaments in the game room and badminton made for some fun family memories."

  • A Peaceful Cabin on Coastal Maine

"We stayed a short time (4 days) in this clean, quiet, attractive cabin looking out over Union River Bay with great views, and did I mention the quiet? I didn't realize that I don't miss traffic noise and light pollution until we stayed here; very enjoyable. This was our base for exploring the area (we'd stayed nearby previously) and Acadia NP and MDI. Very convenient to all. And you're a short hop to Ellsworth for anything you may need. Another plus for me was that I was off the grid (Virgin Mobile) in this area so got a break from calls and email, but only had to go a few miles to pick up a signal. Sometimes we just need to get back to basics to enjoy ourselves. The cabin came with everything we needed, so you don't need to haul a lot of stuff to set up housekeeping here. Russ and Dawn were enjoyable to work with, especially on short notice, and we set up our stay via a few emails and calls. No surprises. We even met the mom on arrival and she conveniently facilitated the lease. Thanks for the pleasant stay and we may visit again. P.S. I don't want to forget to mention dinner at our favorite Maine seafood restaurant, Union River Lobster Pot, in Ellsworth. Try their superb scallops, I had them twice, baked and fried, and they were really great. Enjoy!"

  • Fantastic Family Vacation Experience

"Our family has spent several summer vacations in Maine the past few years, and the cottage on Branch Lake was our favorite destination. The house is well-loved, comfortable, immaculate and stocked with everything you ever could need. John and Kaye were fantastic. Since they were nearby, they made lots of helpful suggestions and made sure that our two boys had everything they could want for a week on the lake. We fished, used the kayaks, canoe and rowboat, had nighttime fires by the lake, and just generally reveled in being in such a gorgeous location. We very much hope to return."

  • Everything you want for a memorable vacation experience

"We were so happy coming down the dirt road driveway to see how secluded and private the cottage is. When we first arrived at the house we were warmly greeted by the owner, Bob Jones which was a nice treat to get a quick tour of the house and tips on the lake and other local advise. But when we 1st walked in was the real unexpected treat. This house is amazing. Plenty of room with 2 screened bedrooms which was an amazing experience of feeling like you were sleeping outdoors but on a really comfortable bed. If that's not your thing there are 2 conventional bedrooms upstairs. 2 dining rooms, again, one screened in and one enclosed. Atriumed living room with all natural wood that still smells of fresh cut natural wood. Real outdoor cabin experience with the luxuries and comforts of home. In the outdoors area between the house and the lake there are 5 kayaks fun for the whole family, even my 9yo daughter had no problem getting to the island on the calm lake. A hammock. A fire pit. A large rock right on the lake which was my coffee spot in the morning and fIshing spot throughout the day. The lake was so clean and warm and has a great island close by where we swam, relaxed, fished and has a HUGE rock to sunbath on or jump off of into the lake(that's a lot of fun). Lots of things to do close by. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Fort Knox and bridge tower observatory. Great Maine Lumberjack show. But with this house you could have a great vacation staying in the whole time. Bob and Doris .......thank you you so much for opening your home to us. We often do vacation rentals but yours will be at the top of our list. This is a great memory of a true Maine vacation for my family."
