  • Outstanding Cottage by the Sea - our most favorite spot ever in Maine!

"Dear PJ and Jeff, A simple thank you doesn't seem adequate to express our appreciation for welcoming Mom and me to the Grey Gull this week! Being our third visit to Maine, we are always very particular to choose just the right property to spend our yearly mother and daughter trip, and your quaint peaceful and tranquil cottage by the sea exceeded all our expectations. You both ensured every detail of our stay was generously attended to, you went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable trip. We can't help but feel blessed to have enjoyed your little slice of paradise, and we will always treasure this trip with fond and loving memories - thank you again for your kind hospitality, your generous hearts and every way, both great and small, you made Grey Gull our home away from home this week. We return home abundantly full with happy and grateful hearts! For anyone seeking heaven by the sea - visit Grey Gull - you'll have the time of your life - you have our wholehearted recommendation! Thanks again, PJ and Jeff!"

  • Comfortable house, beautiful property and view

"My family of 5 stayed here for a week and could not have been happier. Eating dinner on the deck as the sun was setting was a highlight. The house itself was more than enough for us space-wise. There are hiking trails a short drive away. Acadia/Bar Harbor is a bit of a drive, but we would probably skip that anyway if we did it again. I highly recommend."

  • Peace and beauty on the quiet side of Acadia

"From the initial interactions with Alison, the property manager, to the last day of our stay, every aspect of our stay was great. Alison was friendly, helpful and accommodating, and showed us everything we needed to know about the home. We had a group of six and there was ample room for everyone to have their own space. The house was spotless and well equipped, and the view of the harbor and lighthouse was really beautiful. It's probably the only vacation I've had where I have found myself getting out of bed early to watch the sunrise. It was beautiful and utterly peaceful to sit on the log on the rocky shore with a cup of coffee and watch the sleepy harbor come alive. The only sounds were the waves, the fishing boats, and the bell on the harbor buoy. The first day of our stay, I found myself breathing deeply and relaxing every time I realized just how quiet and peaceful it was. There is so much to do in the area, we barely scratched the surface! While there, we took a kayak tour in Winter Harbor, hiked the Anvil trail, took the ferry over to Bar Harbor and hiked Cadillac Mountain, and generally enjoyed all the gorgeous scenery. We spent an afternoon in Bar Harbor doing shopping, eating and people watching, and were glad to retreat to the quiet of Lobster Lodge at day's end. The kitchen is well set up to cook for a group, and all the equipment for a lobster feast is there if you so desire. On the nights we ate out, we tried the Pickled Wrinkle and we also tried Iron Bound...both were excellent. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again...thank you Alison for your hospitality, and thank you to Eric for building such a great place! Thank you Scott for sharing your lovely home with us. Our dog Daisy appreciated the pet sitting services from Alison's daughter, Susie :). You won't regret staying here, it's pretty perfect! Look for the wild rabbit who hangs out in the backyard around 6:30 am."
