  • Authentic Maine Cottage Peaceful and Tranquil

"This little cottage on Toddy Pond was just what we were looking for. It's close to many sights and activities in the area: Acadia, The Pennobscot Bridge Observatory and Fort Knox, and multitude of scenic views that would pop up when you least expected while travelling the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our floaties in Toddy Pond on a lazy afternoon and listening to the Loons in the evening. We dined at Harbor View in Bucksport, Testas in Bar Harbor, and celebrated my 55th birthday at The Jordon Pond House. Horace and Carol were very gracious hosts giving suggestions on local sights and sharing the history behind their gorgeous property. We wish our 4 night stay could have been longer. We highly recommend this little cottage for anyone wanting a quiet, secluded getaway."

  • Family Vacation

"I stayed here with my 3 children and we had a fabulous experience. The house can fit at least 7 and so we had plenty of extra space. The property is well maintained and a great place to sit and relax after a day of sight seeing. Easy access to all the sights on the island. I would definitely recommend Hetzer House to anyone looking to stay on Mount Dessert Island. :)"

  • This is a stunningly beautiful property.

"Our family of 8 adults very much enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor beauty of this lovely property. The kitchen was very nicely stocked with all necessary tools, pots, even a Keurig coffee maker to accommodate individual tastes. We so enjoyed hours of sea glass hunting as well as exploring the rocky coastline. We made several trips to Winter Harbor for ice cream, lunch and enjoying the little shops including a very special art gallery/studio, "Whopaints". We've been coming to this area for 40 years and continue to marvel at the treasures, bounty and beauty it has to offer, including nearby Schoodic Point. We hope to return in the future; can't be soon enough!"
