  • perfect vacation home!

"There were 10 of us in this lovely, clean home and there was still plenty of room (and bathrooms). The home is well kept, with enough linens and towels for all. The dining area even sat all of us each night for dinner - we did use 2 TV tables for the 12 year olds. The deck is a beautiful place to watch and listen to the loons and osprey each morning and each evening. Fishing was great fun and so was the kayaking - I think Green lake is now my favorite lake - the huge rocks are wonderful and inviting to explore, and the view from the deck is so peaceful. The little sand beach - a short hike from the house is so quiet - a great place to read a book or swim in the oh- so- clean water. One week is not long enough to enjoy the area and all it has to offer ! Morgan was very helpful and always returned my calls. She and Mr Cole could not have been more gracious hosts - after all, 10 people in your beautiful home can be scary! I would recommend this home especially if you have kids, ours had a ball, and my 84 year old mom loved the deck with its chairs each morning as she sipped her coffee and read her books in the beautiful Maine air."

  • A Great Place to Stay..Quiet, Relaxing and Refreshing

"My wife and I spent a long weekend at the Milam Cabin and from the very start with our first call with Greg Milam we knew this was going to be a great place to stay. Greg was very gracious in making sure we were comfortable and provided us with the necessary information ahead of time so we would be prepared for our stay. His mom (Norma) came out to meet us and led us to the cabin. We were welcomed by a wonderful gift basket, filled with goodies (yeah whoopie pies!), smore makings and coffee. The cabin is in a great location located on a very quaint and quiet pond (we call them lakes in the midwest) and the best thing for us was hearing the loons calling in the night and the early morning hours. We enjoyed several nights making a fire and just hanging out roasting hot dogs and making smores and enjoying the frest clean Maine air. Standing on the dock at night you can see the Milkyway and a zillion stars, some of them shooting right past us. The cabin has a great porch up front, with two comfortable rockers, and was a great place to enjoy our early morning coffee. The cabin has WIFI if you need to connect to the internet, or watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. There is no satellite cable connection for TV, but that was okay for my wife and I, as we wanted to get away from the news and other cable programing. The cabin comes fully equipped kitchen (pots, pans, utensils, glassware, etc) and you can even purchase one of their great coffee mugs. If you are looking for a quiet and remote place to stay, but still within visiting distance of Bar Harbor, Arcadia Natl Park and the Maine coast, then I would highly recommend the Milam Cabin. You can't go wrong..oh I did i forget, acres upon acres of blueberry fields are nearby."

  • Beautiful views and quiet getaway

"The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway. The cottage has everything you need and is in close proximity to Acadia National Park. Mike was a great host and came to greet us on the first day. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone seeking some R & R! I hope yo come back to Maine someday soon."
