  • Amazing Maine getaway

"We just returned from one of our best vacations ever. We live in the Midwest and had not vacationed in the Northeast. I found this home on VRBO, and booking the home with Vanessa was a great experience. We did tour Bar Harbor several times and found the drive was only about 15 minutes from the home. Near the home is a beach area on Long pond, I believe the road is Ripples Road. I highly recommend this for swimming and renting paddle boards. The lake is very clean and cool. Also check out the hiking near the home, we hiked Canada Cliffs and the views were amazing. The home was perfect for my family. It is a quaint cottage style with everything you need to enjoy a dinner at home and board games for good family fun."

  • Best July 4th Ever

"We rented this place before and loved it so much we came back. The 4th of July celebrations in Castine were an unexpected perk as we had a spectacular view of the fireworks from the deck of the cottage. There was also a very sweet parade on the town green with children in creative, homemade costumes, a band concert, and a sailboat race we watched in the afternoon. The festivities were old-fashioned and small town. The owners checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We'll be back again."

  • Perfect Acadia Experience

"This was our first trip to Mount Desert Island and I could not think of a better place to stay. The cabin was rustic, cozy and very well stocked with all of the day to day essentials. And the location was perfect, nestled among the many trails and a very short drive (no more than 20 minutes max.) to Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National Park. We stayed warm on the cool September evenings with the living room fireplace and master bedroom wood stove and the wood pile, like the rest of the cabin was well stocked! The view of Echo Lake was incredible and we took full advantage of our own private dock to kayak every day. Thank you to Claire for being extremely accommodating and for providing quick responses to our inquiries. This will be our preferred lodging for our next trip to MDI!"
