  • Acadia trip stay at Moss Mountain Cabin

"Great place to stay. Convenient to everything on Mt. Desert Island but quiet and out of the maddening crowds. Very clean, large bedrooms and kitchen filled with everything you need. Would highly recommend!"

  • Perfect Vacation

"First, I must agree with other reviews that say the pictures do not fully capture the beauty of this location and this house, as well as the other positive comments made. The views, the sunsets, and the house are all amazing. The weather was lovely...warm during the day, cool nights with windows open. The house is located close to all the things we wanted to do while in the area, it is an easy drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (about 15 minutes). We were able to hike and kayak in various locations in Acadia, see the beautiful sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, and visit the great town of Bar Harbor and its wonderful restaurants each day. The house is very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is fully stocked, there wasn't a thing we needed...and it is stocked with quality dishes and other kitchen supplies. The owner supplies all linens and towels, and the quality of both are very nice. The views were spectacular from the deck. We made sure we were back to the house each night for the beautiful sunsets, there wasn't any place we wanted to be other than the chairs on that deck. We had a wonderful trip to the area, it was a perfect vacation!"

  • Good for Those Seeking Peace and Quiet

"During our four day stay, we didn't hear a sound from neighbors. We were surprised twice by deer, so be mindful when driving that you're sharing your space with nature. Our family of four adults had more than enough space to spread out and claim a spot of our own. If we had not been out and about each day, my husband would have been perfectly content to lounge for hours in the backyard hammock. We prepared dinner once there, but drove the other three evenings into Bar Harbor. This is a good 20 minutes from the house. You really need to allow 30 minutes if you have a reservation, since finding a parking place in Bar Harbor is challenging at best. The house is completely stocked with everything you might need and then some. Thank you Lorie for having bandages for blisters, an umbrella, and insulated lunch bags for guests to borrow. All came in handy. We found the house to be very clean and comfortably furnished. Since we arrived after three on our first day, we only had time for a short excursion. We drove by Somes Sound along Sargeant Drive off of Route 198. Lovely and peaceful towards dusk."

  • Perfect vacation home for our family of 10!

"Our family of 10 stayed at the lovely Brewer home for a week in July & August. We traveled from California to Bar Harbor to attend a family reunion. We enjoyed hiking and site-seeing in Acacia National Park, eating out at some great restaurants, shopping in Bar Harbor, swimming several times in a nearby pond, and of course memorable times at our family reunion nearby. Our 4 young teenagers especially enjoyed their privacy in the downstairs apartment, watching a movie with pizza at the "Reel Pizza Cinerama" downtown in B.H. and experiencing their first popovers on the lawn at Jordon Pond in ANP. The Brewer house was definitely as described on its website. My favorite amenities were the wonderful professional stove in the kitchen, lots of available cooking utensils & spices, etc. and the large dining table where we had several family dinners and breakfasts. I would highly recommend Meredith's home especially for families."
