  • Quiet Cove Is Amazing!!!!

"I searched for a perfect spot to spend our vacation in Maine and I found it!! As we pulled up my sister in law and I were giddy with joy!! It was so beautiful and peaceful. My husband and 13 year old walked around in awe exploring. We spent the week enjoying Schoodic Point and Acadia Park (not located too far from Quiet Cove) but we couldn't wait to get back to Quiet Cove. Quiet Cove was very clean, homey, peaceful and accessible. Our adult son uses a walker and he was able to get around within the cottage. The best memories were made sitting on the screen porch watching the lobster boats and the beautiful view. Thank you Gail for all the personal touches. There were so many! The boots were used daily! We cooked the mussels we gathered!! I can't imagine not coming back! We can't quit thinking about it and I hope that we can come back again and create more memories."

  • Perfect Get Away From It All

"I was looking for a quiet place to spend a week with my girls (12 and 15) that would be peaceful, fun, and close enough to Bar Harbor to visit but far enough to feel like we were getting away from it all. I really could not have found a more perfect place; John and Liz made us feel so welcomed it was like being in our own home, not a rental, right from the start. The house itself is really beautifully situated; the beach is right down a path out the back steps, the sun sparkles through the windows in the mornings, the stars sparkle at night and the waves, when it's windy, will put you to sleep. It's on a hushed country road with few cars; the quiet in the air is stunning, especially at night. We also fell in love with the dogs - especially Maddie, who we miss - it was like a fringe benefit! Everything we needed was there; bikes to ride and wood for the outdoor fire pit and even fresh eggs from the chickens. We stopped at Tradewinds in Blue Hill on the way for food - which I recommend - but the cottage has what you would need otherwise - towels and sheets and blankets and a kitchen stocked with the basics, pots and pans and utensils, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. Pretty much whatever you need is there, making it a lot easier to unpack and unwind. Liz and John are great hosts, the house is sweet and cozy, and it was as perfect a week as I could have imagined. If you are trying to avoid the bustle of Bar Harbor but want to be close enough to get there for dinner or day trips (about 45 minutes), you can't do better. Liz also recommended a boat trip in Bass Harbor (Island Cruises) which was an absolute must, a great way to spend an afternoon. Thanks Liz and John for helping us make lifelong memories, we hope to come back!"

  • Perfect Maine Getaway

"This cottage was an ideal size for the two of us and our dog. Having a private beach just steps from the house was absolutely the best part. We walked the shoreline during low tide, swam during hide tide, and had fires on the beach at night. Acadia National Park is only a 45 minute drive away and coming back after a long hike or a day in Bar Harbor to this peaceful setting was simply perfect. We grilled on the back deck most nights and the kitchen is stocked with any supplies you would need. Dee was very accommodating to us and prompt in her responses from the day we booked until the day we left!"

  • Perfect & serene setting on Long Pond

"Perfect location and great accommodations on Long Pond. The house was exactly as described: comfortable, well-furnished, and ideally located. The house is off the beaten path so we had quiet, saw deer, loons and osprey, but it is located close enough to everything to make outings easy. The view is priceless! I have used VRBO properties several times, but this was by far the best experience. The deck and dock were great spots for reading, star-gazing and using the included kayaks and canoe. We would certainly return."
