  • Great place to stay for Acadia and Bar Harbor!

"Loved this family home. Two ovens, plenty of books, a grill with charcoal, great for dining at home. Beach towels for Sand Beach, loads of books, nice deck, beautiful flowers. Fans in every room, slept with windows open. Close to everything in Acadia National Park. 10 minutes to Bar Harbor. We would stay here again. Our family of four spent the first night cramped in a harbor side hotel in Bar Harbor. This place was terrific got our family to spread out. Tracy was very easy to work with and accommodated our change on dates due to a work conflict."

  • Fantastic house in prime location

"We just returned from our stay at Central House, and our party of eight had an amazing time! The house is set up perfectly for a larger group, with plenty of space to either be together or retire to private quarters. The three teens especially loved having the top/3rd floor to themselves ... a little apartment all their own. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but we admittedly didn't do a lot of cooking. We used the location as a springboard to explore Acadia and were not home much during the day (but enjoyed being back at the house in the evenings to watch the Olympics together). After visiting Bar Harbor, we were very glad to have chosen the "quiet side" to stay in! You can't beat the location. A few of our favorite "close by" things were being able to walk to Beal's for lobster (a 15 minute walk), Little Notch Bakery in town (for delicious pizza) and a 2 minute walk for popovers at Common Good (by donation, to fund their soup kitchen efforts). We loved the hike on Acadia Mountain and then swimming across the road at the Echo Lake Ledges (less than a 10 minute drive). Most mornings started with coffee on the front porch. We hope to be so fortunate to travel back to Acadia in the future, and we'd stay at Central House again in a heartbeat!"

  • Best decision we made, was perfect!!!!

"We were more than pleased with choosing this beautiful home. We felt completely comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. There were 9 of us staying there and 2 family members who visited everyday. Angie and Chris have a beautiful home, it is very clean and well maintained. We cooked and/or grilled everyday, what fun with the family....The kids could play on the tree swings or just run around the yard, no worries. It was very easy access to all of the activities we like to do when we are in Bar Harbor, from going into Bar Harbor to shop, going to a water activity or going hiking. Some of our family hiked Gorham Mountain which is the view from the deck. Once they reached the top, they let us know, we couldn't see them for sure, but we reflected our I-Pad off the sun and they could see us, it was very exciting. We just love coming to Bar Harbor, now we know we have a home there, we can't wait for 2018. Thank you Angie and Chris for such a wonderful week. We will see you in two years... Kathy and family"
