  • Marvelous stay in the woods

"The cedar view is a can't miss stay on the quiet side of the island. The house is in a tranquil woods with deer and wild turkeys coming through the yard on a daily basis. The deck allows you t peacefully enjoy the woods and fresh air. The house itself is an ideal place to stay. Clean, spacious and well equipped, you really do not even need to go out if you really do not want to. Ideal for couples and families alike. Easy access to hiking and the sound as well as downtown southwest harbor. It is a short 30 ish minute drive to bar harbor and the main areas of the national park. I can't say enough about the cedar view and its wonderful hosts. You should absolutely rent this house. We hope to return there some time soon."

  • Beauty and Comfort On The Cove

"For my first Maine adventure, I wanted to experience house living and not hotel (pretend) living. I was referred to VRBO and found what looked to be just the right place in Tremont on Seal Cove. The cabin is beautiful with wood floors and walls. It was very clean and inviting when I arrived with cute touches like some staple foods in the kitchen to tasty maple candies in the candy dishes. I loved the huge collection of books. I spent quite a bit of time reading and re-reading books. There are fun and interesting old posters (like one from WW II about not telling military secrets to beautiful women) The hosts are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was always delicious. I had fun shopping in town and making some very tasty meals for myself. I was at the cabin alone, savoring quiet time away from my noisy large Utah family. The cabin was the perfect level of comfort and wood stove fire building for me. I love this time of year and was happy to be in Maine when the population of tourists such as myself was fairly low. I recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful house with amazing views of the Cove and genial hosts who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Next year I plan to bring my family to stay with me (if they are very nice ; )"
