  • Great week at Turtle Nest!

"We loved our stay at Turtle Nest. The owners are very responsive and helpful! The house is Very clean, had everything we needed, and just as pictured in photos. No cable tv, but Netflix available, and our 3 kids didn't miss tv at all! Centrally located to everything on MDI, the road was busy during our stay, (one of the 2 busiest weeks on the island) but didn't bother us a bit- the front fence really separates you from the road, and fans in bedrooms offset road noise too. Our 3 kids and 2 dogs played on side and back yard and barn. Church across the street had pies and quiches for sale one day and lobster dinner the next. The quintessential Maine home in central location! Would highly recommend this home!"

  • Great Cabin in Acadia

"This cabin is perfect for a week in Acadia!! It is centrally located, between Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor. Easy access to the carriage trails with very detailed walking directions. The efficiency kitchen arrangement suited us very well for preparing a light breakfast with coffee, packing a lunch and dining out for dinner (we did cook lobster outside on the deck on a foggy Thursday for lunch and it was so easy and delicious we did it all over again Friday night!!). The cabin has heaters that quickly take the chill off when turned on for just a few minutes in the morning. The fireplace would be lovely on a cool night but we stayed on a week that didn't get too cool. Hosts communicate readily and are very helpful if you have specific questions. Plenty of brochures and a journal from past visitors provide information on things to do. There are very detailed hiking books on Acadia hikes and carriage trails which we found extremely helpful. Hosts even provide a backpack, binoculars, and a small cooler for your use. The cabin is comfortable, with good lighting, and space to unpack clothes (although there is no formal closet, there is a bar with hangers). We used the loft for storing our suitcases since we didn't need the extra bed. There is a house nearby which had guests, but the privacy fence and the arrangement of the two buildings is situated nicely so the neighbors do not feel too close. Check in and check out is a breeze. Thank you Margaret for providing such a warm and well cared for place!! I hope we can return some day and hike a few more trails. 1 hour ago"

  • Cozy, beautiful, and private

"We had an amazing week in Seal Cove in this fully equipped cottage. From the screened in porch we were able to see bald eagles, osprey, herons, and gorgeous sunsets. We have two small kids and the cottage was perfect for them with the coast and tide pools to explore and the yard to play in. The house is spacious and has books and board games for rainy days. Will definitely be heading back! Highly recommend."
