  • blissful week

"This is our fourth (or so) summer week in the SW Harbor-on-the-harbor house and it was every bit as splendid as the last three. The setting is serene, the house is wonderfully comfortable, Southwest Harbor/Acadia is an ideal spot. The fact that we keep wanting to go back summer upon summer to this very same spot probably says it all."

  • Comfortable, Clean, Convenient and Charming Cottage

"My husband and I stayed in this lovely cottage for one week and were extremely happy with everything it provided. Everything we needed was there, all we had to provide was food! It is obvious that the owners have put a lot of time and thought into making sure the cottage is a 'home away from home' for whomever stays there. The cottage was extremely clean and we loved the charm of it too with the sloping floors and walls and especially enjoyed the beautiful flowers in the front, it truly is a cottage garden. We loved the convenience of it, being able to walk into town and enjoy the many restaurants and shops that Bar Harbor has to offer and it is only a few minutes drive from the Park with its beauty and trails, carriage roads, and so much more. The owners provided a binder with wonderful information including instructions on appliances etc. in the cottage, recommendations for Restaurants, Hikes, places of interest etc. We enjoyed an amazing dinner at McKays and also a scrumptious breakfast at Side Street Cafe, both of which were recommended. It was nice being able to eat at the cottage and one night we cooked mussels which we collected at Pretty Marsh beach and enjoyed them with a bottle of wine that was left for us as a gift by the owners. This is our fourth visit to Mount Desert Island and we love it more each time we return. There is so much to see and do whether it be in town, the Park or the quiet side of the Island which we love exploring. Of all the places we have stayed over the years, this cottage is truly our favorite and we would definitely stay there again."

  • FABULOUS !!

"This place is a gem!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, we walked in and were so happy to see how spotlessly clean it was. So cozy and well furnished, the bed was so comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook with. We slept really well, and found it to be quiet. We loved sitting in the yard with our glass of wine each evening relaxing surrounded by beautiful flowers and watching the antics of the ducks, and chickens. What a beautiful yard!! It is super close to Arcadia National Park which is why we came to Bar Harbour. Also the downtown area has so many great restaurants and shops to keep you busy, but really driving around to explore the natural beauty was just fantastic!! Donna and Kevin were great hosts so easy to talk to and full of information about the local area, and recommended some gardens and other hidden area's to check out that were just great!! They really take pride in their property and you just have to look around to see that. We will definitely be back. What a great find this was!! Thanks so much for a fabulous and relaxing vacation."

  • Four Winds

"The cottage, Four Winds, is on the point of a peninsula just north of Southwest Harbor. It is a beautiful spot with its own beach and private dock. The house is roomy, clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The three front upstairs bedrooms open out to a large deck with lounge chairs and a hammock. Our family has enjoyed a vacation here for the last two years. We just loved taking the youngest kids on sea glass hunts on the rocky beach and watching the older kids of all ages swimming and fishing for crabs off the dock. We all enjoyed our meals on the patio while drinking in the peaceful views of the ocean with boats sailing by. Four Winds is a little piece of heaven tucked away on Mt. Dessert Island!"
