  • Lovely Maine home, perfect for a large family

"6 adults and 3 children enjoyed this beautiful home for a week. Our kids were never bored, and spent hours kayaking and swimming off the dock on the property. The home was large enough to accommodate the mix of family members and everyone always had a space to read, play a board game, or just sit on the lovely deck and enjoy the amazing view of Somes Sound. The house is fully stocked and there was nothing we needed. The owners even provide ample linens & towels. The caretaker was very helpful, and when we lost power for a few hours one evening because of a trim limb down, she responded quickly to let us know what was happening. The location on the quieter side of the island was perfect, and we enjoyed many evenings in Southwest Harbor, although we were only a short drive from Bar Harbor as well. Couldn't have planned a more idyllic vacation, in large part because of this great property."

  • Fantastic, wonderful, peaceful, Divine!

"This is a perfect getaway place for a couple or a family. The cottage (camp) is cozy and open with all the windows you get tons of light and fresh air. The lake is beyond description with its vistas right from the house and the temperature was as good as it gets for swimming. We paddled and swam whenever we were not looking around the area. The only downside is the roadway between the cottage and the lake, most of the time it is quiet but the locals do come ripping thru which is noisy but a concern if you have kids running back and forth. Otherwise bring your water toys and books and go there to unwind and unplug!"

  • Nice place for a first-time visit to Maine

"I've been coming to Maine for over 30 years with my husband to visit his family. This year, I brought my brother and his family---first timers. Mind you, they are not campers; can't stand bugs; and don't like the "rustic". They loved it! The house is roomy, comfortable, beautiful and the kitchen is well- stocked. The lake is beautiful also. My family was so excited to see an Eagle, Osprey, and the Loons---they were there every morning(and the girls were fascinated by them). Scott and Lisa provide wood for the fire pit (very cool) and they have three kayaks which was also a first-time experience for my family. They went out on the lake (which is pretty calm) almost every day. The location is not bad for particular points of interest i.e. Portland, Freeport, and Popham Beach. Great restaurants are in Hallowell, Agusta, and other places as pointed out by Scott and Lisa. Scott was easy to work with from the beginning. He always responded to my texts and e-mails. He was there to greet us and give us a helpful tour and he also returned our deposit (with a shirt I left behind) within a day. Loved it!"

  • Perfect & serene setting on Long Pond

"Perfect location and great accommodations on Long Pond. The house was exactly as described: comfortable, well-furnished, and ideally located. The house is off the beaten path so we had quiet, saw deer, loons and osprey, but it is located close enough to everything to make outings easy. The view is priceless! I have used VRBO properties several times, but this was by far the best experience. The deck and dock were great spots for reading, star-gazing and using the included kayaks and canoe. We would certainly return."
