  • Beautiful cottage in great location

"We have been visiting SWH for 15 years and this cottage is our favorite yet. Wonderful views of the harbor, well stocked kitchen and great location for walking to town restaurants and shops. Southwest Harbor is the perfect location for people who want to explore all that Mt. Desert and Acadia have to offer. It is much less crowded on the "quiet side" of Mt Desert and provides close access to Acadia's hiking trails, carriage roads and the island's good restaurants. We will be back!"

  • Relaxing, comfortable home

"What a great place! This home is so nice and comfortable, very relaxing and so quiet. It is literally 400 feet from Main Street, but it's on a dead end, so it was quiet any time of day. My favorite things about Wesley House are the fireplace, the big kitchen, lots of sunlight with all the windows and it is so comfortable it really felt like home to us. I also liked the big table in the dining area. We spread out our maps and planned our adventures from this spot. We were pleasantly surprised that it is not far from Bar Harbor at all. Gina is so pleasant to deal with. She is prompt with emails and and any questions or special requests. She is a great resource with suggestions/ideas about places to eat, where to rent bikes, ideas for great walks, hikes and even ideas about what to do on a rainy day. The kitchen is fully stocked, there are lots of towels, firewood, blankets, pillows, hot water, books, games. You name it. Just very comfortable with anything you might need. We just loved Acadia and the small town feel of Southwest Harbor. Great place, and Gina is so nice. Rent Wesley House, you will not be disappointed."

  • Will always come back to!!

"We had the best week ever! Waking up every morning to the view of the water was beautiful! The home touches that the owner put in this rental made us fell so much at home. The whole week we never used our car. We could walk to the restaurants in town, go hiking, and shopping. We will be back! Thank you so much!!!"

  • Ideal getaway!!!

"My husband and I have been going to Mt. Desert Island for over 45 years to enjoy the spectacular ocean walks and views, mountains, and lakes that the island offers. As much as we loved our twice (or thrice) annual trips to Acadia, the noisy motels/hotels and long restaurant lines were becoming tiresome and diminished our level of enjoyment. We'd often rented cottages elsewhere but had never found a cottage in the Bar Harbor area that we liked until we stumbled upon Paul's Cottage. What we ideally had wanted was a cottage on the ocean with a fireplace that offered both privacy and easy access to Acadia Park. After spending a fall and spring week in Paul's Cottage this past year, we have found it a perfect fit for us, offering many amenities including the following. - situated right on the shore with stunning westerly island and sunset views - welcoming, friendly, and accommodating owners (available but not intrusive) - a large updated kitchen not wanting for anything - fresh lobster and other seafood, produce, groceries, etc. available within a short drive - very good restaurants (especially in season) if desired - Acadia Park sites within easy driving distance - various books and games to enjoy by the huge fireplace (endless supply of firewood available) or on the spacious deck overlooking the water - the Southwest Harbor Library issues guest passes for non-residents for supplemental reading choices We are very much looking forward to our two-week stay this fall and are considering a winter visit at some point."
