  • Classic Maine Cottage

"We have been coming to this part of Maine for years and this is the best house yet! The owners have renovated it to perfection. The kitchen is nice and large and because we are all "cooks" we really appreciated it. For the first several weeks we ate on the porch just off of the kitchen and then moved in, once the evenings became a little chilly. The living area is very inviting as well, with plenty of room for reading, playing games, and doing a puzzle. Upstairs there are 5 very nice and cozy bedrooms , 2 of which have direct views of the harbor. All are decorated in a very classic Maine manner with beautiful wall paper. The owner was always available if I needed her as well as the caretaker. Although we did not have young children on this vacation, it would be a fun house for kids as well!"

  • Post Holiday Adventure on a Sleepy MDI

"What a find! This home is spacious, well appointed, with a feeling of charm and warmth. The kitchen has anything and everything you would ever need. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds comfortable. The view of the Sound from all front facing windows is mesmerizing. And a huge deck runs across the entire front of the home. There are great trails near by for hiking, It's a short drive to Southwest Harbor. And a great place for home baked breads, pizza, subs and pastries is Saltmeadow Farm on the Tremont Road, Bass Harbor. Yumm. I would definitely return and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this home to a friend."

  • Comfortable Cottage on the Quiet Side

"The Greenhouse was very clean and well appointed. Spacious for two people with a large master bedroom nice living dining area. Large yard with patio set in a quiet compound well located just outside Southwest Harbor but within walking distance. Hosts provided detailed information about the house local hikes, restaurants and so much more. It was very helpful and they were very easy to communicate with and very responsive when we couldn't figure out the TV. Overall a great getaway."

  • Terrific location, wonderful house

"We had a terrific one-week stay in this home. The location is ideal. If you want to avoid the crowded craziness of Bar Harbor in search of a more peaceful location, Southwest Harbor is perfect. From this house, you can watch the sun rise over the harbor and then walk to the little downtown area for free Popovers at the Common Good Café, which collects donations for the soup kitchen it supports. While we were there, SW Harbor held an art festival, and you also can walk up the main street for a homemade pie or some ice cream. About a 15-20 minute drive to the Acadia NP visitor’s center. The house itself was lovely. We are a family of 6 (3 college/hs age daughters and a 10th grade son), so the girls shared a room with three beds on the 1st floor while our son got his own room on the 2nd floor (we took the master bedroom on the 2nd floor). Two full baths and a laundry. Excellent hot tub out back, which is serviced twice a week and very clean. Well-equipped kitchen (we made three pies while we were there). Overall, an excellent place to stay and we highly recommend it."
