  • Four Winds

"The cottage, Four Winds, is on the point of a peninsula just north of Southwest Harbor. It is a beautiful spot with its own beach and private dock. The house is roomy, clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The three front upstairs bedrooms open out to a large deck with lounge chairs and a hammock. Our family has enjoyed a vacation here for the last two years. We just loved taking the youngest kids on sea glass hunts on the rocky beach and watching the older kids of all ages swimming and fishing for crabs off the dock. We all enjoyed our meals on the patio while drinking in the peaceful views of the ocean with boats sailing by. Four Winds is a little piece of heaven tucked away on Mt. Dessert Island!"

  • Beautiful and comfortable home

"I would recommend this house. We had a great stay. The house is very clean and the area is very quiet which was very nice for 4 busy professionals. Every bedroom has its bathroom. The view is beautiful and the location is perfect to visit Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. One surprise at the end: cleaning fees are deducted from the security deposit which we have never seen before ( the house was left impeccable). In spite of this, I would highly recommend renting this house as it has everything needed for a relaxing and easy vacation."

  • Wonderful views of the harbor and great host and hostess!

"My husband and I stated for 4 nights on a trip to Acadia. The room was immaculately clean and the bed very comfy. Best is the views out the large picture window of the apartment. Or sit and enjoy the view from the Adirondack chairs right on the beach. I spent most mornings enjoying the lobster boats going out of the harbor and watching the harbor seal and a few porpoises swim around. Great location (on the quiet side of town), wonderful views, great accommodations and even better hosts. We will certainly be returning! Andrew and Diane also recommended a great stops on our way down to Portland. They certainly didn't disappoint! They are truly amazing hosts!"

  • Nice condo, right on the harbor

"The description of the property was accurate. Property was well maintained and clean. The owners were very nice. We had an issue with the water heater and it was resolved the next day (even though it was a holiday!) Thank you John! I would definitely recommend this condo for someone looking to stay on Mt. Desert Island. It is on the quite side, which we didn't mind the 30 minute drive into Bar Harbor. We really enjoyed downtown Bar Harbor and of course, Acadia National Park. In town of SWH, grab a pizza and ice cream at Quiteside Cafe. You will not be disappointed! We had a rainy day and took the time to go to Schoodic Point. It is off the island but definitely worth the trip! Best part, nobody was there! Had a great time on Mt. Desert Island and would stay in the same place again!"
