  • Our Acadia Trip

"My family and I were looking so forward to our trip to Acadia National Park. We spent a few days hiking and exploring the area. What made our trip even more enjoyable and more special was our stay in Southwest Harbor (property #715253). It was just as I imagined a quaint Maine cottage to be. The house was clean and spacious. We made breakfast every morning, packed our lunches for our hikes, then came home hours later to rest comfortably in front of a beautiful fire. The property is unique in that it sits right next to a very old cemetery, which at first I was skeptical, but then loved the history of it. The house is easy walk to the town of Southwest Harbor where there is a convenient grocery store and good restaurants. There are hiking trails within minutes of the property, but also Bar Harbor is only 15-20 minute drive where the trails in Acadia are abundant. Some trails we went to (Jordan Pond and Cadillac Mtn) are on Park Loop Road and are a little further (25-30 mins) but so worth it. Both were a highlight of the trip. The owner was wonderful to work with, very responsive and accommodating. The owner was very detailed about how to enter the house when we arrived and left a binder on the kitchen table that details everything about the property, local attractions not to miss, where to get groceries, and favorite local restaurants. I would recommend this home to anyone and if we go back sometime (and I hope we do) I would rent the home again without question."

  • Beautiful and peaceful place to stay

"My husband and I had a wonderful week in this cabin with a view. Start the day with the beautiful reflectons of the trees on the water and end it with with a glowing sunset. In between everything Acadia has to offer is a short distance away. The cabin is just as pictured and very comfortable. If the weather turns cool, you can cozy up to the gas logs in the living room. When I return to Acadia, this is the place I will choose to stay."

  • One of best vacations ever!

"We loved Acadia National Park! Seamist Cottage was a great home base for us. It's very close to Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, Wonder Land, and Ship Harbor so you can do easy, beautiful hikes with very little driving. The 30 minute drive to the main part of Acadia National Park was not bad at all - we did it most days. It was so nice to return to our cozy, quiet cottage which was equipped with everything we needed. Robin was very quick to respond to any questions or requests. We would recommend Seamist without reservation, and hope to return someday."

  • Great cottage in a convenient location

"Stayed here last week with my sister. Cameline is clean, comfortable, well stocked and perfect for 2 adults. Southwest Harbor was a convenient location for our explorations of Acadia Natl Park, Bar Harbor, the western edge of Mount Desert Island and even the Schoodic Peninsula. We would definitely stay here again."
