  • Cool 1930's cottage right by thr harbor.

"We certainly enjoyed our stay here. We came for a week in October to hike the Acadia trails and enjoy the Fall foliage. Southwest Harbor has so much charm and is much less crowded than Bar Harbor. The cottage was well equipped with whatever you might need for your vacation. I loved the sleeping porches though it was too cold to use in Oct. I definately would stay here again."

  • Very satisfied

"I am almost reluctant to submit this review, in that doing so would risk getting the word out about how nice this place is. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The house is ideally located in SW Harbor, on the quiet side of MDI and the associated crowds in Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mtn, etc. the house itself is quiet, private, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. However, it is not luxurious in the traditional sense (the luxuries here are the quiet, views, rocking chairs on the deck, breeze off the water, and so on). The beds are comfortable which is key. There is fast internet and a nice TV, although we never turned the TV on given all the outdoor activities. The dock is a great bonus and we used it extensively for kayaking in the harbor. Very thankful to have found this place."

  • Perfect, cozy, relaxing spot

"My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely cottage while exploring Acadia. It was perfect for the two of us! Much more spacious than the pictures show. The flowers were welcoming as was the sunny, open entryway/living room. We were half an hour from most of the hikes we wanted to do but very close to Southwest Harbor which was a classy and quaint town with just enough delicious restaurants and activity to keep us satisfied. We even got pizza one early evening and brought it back to the cottage and sat outside on the patio and ate pizza and drank beers. We had scrumptious seafood in town a few nights as well. It was peaceful and private and felt like we were in our own little world. There were a few hikes we also did close to the cottage and Bass Harbor lighthouse was just a few minutes down the road. We had wanted to extend our stay because we were enjoying our time so much but someone else was arriving. Leslie was great on the phone when we were first exploring options and we are so thankful we decided on this location once we became familiar with a few of the other towns we were checking out online. If you want a home away from home that is close enough to different activities and great food but far enough that you aren't right in the thick of tourist hell, this is definitely a perfect option."

  • Lovely home in cental NorthEast Harbor

"This was my first time ever renting a home instead of staying in hotels while we traveled. To say I was nervous is an understatement. I was looking for a true relaxing experience while we visited Acadia, and I this house provided us that. First and foremost, Tim was very accommodating and understanding of the many questions I had regarding the rental process. In my first email to Tim, I told him that I had never rented a home before and within five minutes I got a phone call. He did everything he could to calm my nervousness, which I appreciated tremendously. I knew from that point I was dealing with a legit homeowner. Even at the last moment, he allowed me to add my small dog to our trip when I initially thought I would be leaving him with family. The property was a perfect size for our party. We traveled with four adults, three teenagers, a three-year-old, and my dog. The two couples each had the same size master bedrooms, so no flipping of a coin was needed, and the teenagers shared a room with ample space and their own beds. We really appreciated the multiple bathrooms when it came time to get ready. The house itself was stocked with more than what we needed to get by. It had everything! I kept saying to myself how much money I saved by not having to buy all those items that made our stay so comfortable. I have officially been converted to a home renter in my travels! The area of the rental was central to all the great things the island had to offer. In my initial search, I thought we had to stay in Bar Harbor to be around all the action. I am SO GLAD we did not! We visited Bar Harbor for one day but it was such a busy place that we never went back. It was just full of shops. Besides, all the fun stuff was around us. We visited all the great spots: Jordans Pond, Cadillac Mountain, The Carriage Trail, etc, but also got to go on a deep sea fishing adventure where the captain pulled up lobster pots and gave everyone on board a lobster. We did our fair share of relaxing too. It was very convenient that just a short walk from the house was a quaint little Main Street with stores full of everything we could need. Also, there was a Walmart and a Shaws a short drive away. We ate out sometimes but also made good use of the BBQ grill on the property. Our last day we decided to explore the SouthWest Harbor. I am so glad we did because we got a chance to take a kayaking trip on Long Pond at sunset. I told Tim we will DEF be back again! THANKS TIM AND FAMILY!"
