  • Most comfortable family get away in Bar Harbor

"I've been renting summer homes in Bar Harbor for around 15 years and this is the best one our family has ever rented. Sherri - the owner has made this the perfect place for enjoying Acadia. The large rooms give us room to play, rest and enjoy each other. There is a study for the office work that I need to do, a well equipped kitchen, puzzles and games for rainy days. The outdoor grill and patio seating is nice. There is plenty of secure gated space for us to park our 7 bikes. Sherri lives in the community and is readily available for anything we need. It is located on a quiet street near the center of all activities with private parking. We were able to park our car and walk to all restaurants, waterfront, parks and a bike ride to some carriage trails."

  • All the comforts of home: simple, charming and welcoming.

"My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Acadia Meadow for our honeymoon. Neither of us had visited Acadia prior but had high hopes of both the region and our homebase. Our expectations were exceeded in both accounts! My biggest priority for our trip was that we stay someplace that wasn't the usual tourist rattrap, someplace that felt like a home - if not our home then at least like the borrowed home of a relative or close friend. Someplace comfortable, furnished with personal touches, with a well-equipped kitchen and a few extras that said you were in the hands of someone who wanted you to feel at home and wished for you to enjoy the area as they did themselves. For us, Todd and Suze were those people and Acadia Meadow was that home. The house is clean and open. Most of it is the open kitchen, dining area and living room. There are picture windows that look out to a meadow beyond the lawn with trees beyond that. There's no other building to be seen. It's a wonderful view to cook by or take in from the attached private deck with coffee or cocktail in hand. It is an attached wing of the hosts' house but with its own entrance and driveway It always felt to be a private residence with a plus ... Todd and Suze themselves. Our hosts were wonderfully available when we needed them and left us completely to ourselves when we didn't have questions about farmer's markets, or swimming holes or the best carriage roads to ride on and the best trails to hike. We had the very good fortune of staying the last week of August when Todd's vegetable garden was bursting. We were offered our full of fresh herbs, carrots, cucumbers, beets and tomatoes and took full advantage. Even if you aren't lucky enough to stay when the garden is producing, the kitchen is very nicely equipped to cook to your heart's desire. Very nice quality pots and pans, good sharp knives, cutting boards in excess and storage containers to pack away leftovers for the next day. Whether I was searching an appliance or kitchen tool or picnic cooler or binoculars to check out the wildlife (and guidebooks to identify them) I was regularly surprised at how thoughtfully equipped this place is. The only qualification I'll add is that the house is on Route 3 set back about 50'. We knew it before we stayed. Yes, you can hear the cars but every place on the island has its reminders that the days of rustication are past. We chose to ignore the occasional muffled sounds and enjoy the simple pleasures here"

  • Can't wait to go back!

"Our family of four (our two daughters ages 11 and 13, my husband and me) spent a week here in June 2016 - the Knollette and Mount Desert Island are HEAVEN! This cottage was perfect for us. Wonderful space for our breakfasts and dinners, complete with charcoal grill and firepit in the backyard. Very private but with easy access to everything. We loved morning walks to the causeway down the street, went in to some part of Acadia Park every day, and the cottage is a pretty short walk to downtown Southwest Harbor and about a 20-minute drive to Bar Harbor. The Knollette has everything we needed for our week - washer/dryer, card-playing space, big windows of the yard and surrounding woods to see the deer, coffeemaker and great beds. In Acadia we recommend hiking Gorham and Champlain Mountains, spending plenty of time atop Cadillac, Jordan Pond Trail and biking the carriage roads. Eat lots of ice cream at the Quietside Cafe and MDI Ice Cream. The Knollette made our trip a total hit because of it's amenities, peace and location. The owner is very responsive and was VERY accommodating; we even got to meet him during our stay. We will be back! Hoping for TWO weeks next time!"

  • Perfect Rental

"The bungalow is perfect in every way. Clean, well appointed, and in a great location. Easy access to the Park and minutes from Bar Harbor. Very quiet beautiful neighbor. Thank you Geoff for making this such a great place for our family vacation. It was nice to walk in and find everything we needed after a long drive from North Carolina."
