  • Great House, Great Location

"This was our first time traveling to Maine, and we are so glad we chose this home for our vacation. The house is located in a quiet location, which is semi wooded. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring Acadia National Park as well as the other Towns in the area, and is close to many restaurants. We spent most of our time exploring Acadia National Park and did a lot of hiking daily. It was nice to come back to the house and relax in the hot tub on the back deck. The house has a gas fireplace in the living room and we used it nightly, it was nice to relax on the couch watching TV and the fire. The owner is great to deal with, she always promptly answered any questions I had prior to our arrival. We will definitely be renting this house again when we come back to Maine. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting the area."

  • Well-appointed getaway on the quiet side.

"We had a lovely stay at Seamist. Robin is an amazing host, and she patiently answered many questions, always very quickly. The home is very comfortable, and we enjoyed evenings on the couch with the fireplace going. There were just two of us, plus our little Italian greyhound. We rented the home because we needed a well appointed kitchen, and we got that in spades. Robin has thought of everything. It is also very nice that the home is stocked with basic supplies such as foil, plastic wrap, detergent, and tissues. The house was spotless, and it also had a good supply of books and other information about the area. We were very fortunate with the weather, arriving at peak color season. Acadia National Park was just spectacular! After leaving I realized that I had left three scarves in the closet, and Robin shipped them back to me the next day. I can't recommend Seamist and its extremely accommodating owners highly enough. We would definitely recommend this home to friends and family, and we hope to have a chance to return in the future."

  • Fabulous House!

"We loved this house, and would recommend it for so many reasons. My favorite spot was the deck off the kitchen. Wine in hand, we snacked and chatted there every night, watching the sun go down. It's the epitome of relaxation. We cooked for ourselves most nights, as our days were so full of hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen has everything you'd want. Five of us shared the house, but it's huge and never felt crowded. Lots of space downstairs for everyone to watch the game or whatever is on TV. We stayed for five nights - which was perfect. There are many things to do and see. The island is small, so it's a short drive to get anywhere, but we loved that the house felt remote. It's on the "quiet side" of the island. From the house, you can walk down to a little path that's part of the nature preserve, reaching the shore within 30 minutes at most. The shady trails looked like fairies could pop out at any moment. There are many other trails close by, and the beautiful Echo Lake is just minutes away. We enjoyed a lobster dinner at Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor, but my favorite meal was lobster rolls at Thurston's Lobster Pound down in Bernard at the tip of the western part of the island. Don't hesitate. This is a terrific place to stay."
