  • The Loon Cottage is very cute. Nicely decorated and laid out. Lake is amazing! Great getaway spot

"We had a great time and would have liked the stay longer. The temperature of the pond, which is really a lake, was perfect in early August. Orland is convenient to Blue Hill area and Belfast and Carol told us a shortcut to Acadia. Cool to be near the Big Chicken Barn. The directions on the app and in the yellow book are very thorough. Honestly between the recommendations in them and guide books, we had too much to do! :). We didn't get a chance to rent a canoe or kayak--including one with the property would be a nice perk. Staying on a lake and near Acadia is an embarrassment of riches. We would be happy to come back and stay in the Loon Cottage again! Thank you!"

  • A wonderful getaway cottage

"This house is great if you want peace and quiet, but yet it is close to area attractions. We have stayed here several times due to proximity to Acadia National Park and easy access to the coast to the north and south. We love the setting, on the water, and the peace and quiet, being set back and shrouded by trees. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well supplied with amenities for daily living. The wifi and cable tv are nice additions. We enjoyed watching wild turkeys stroll through the yard and seeing loons and herons on the water. With an outstanding view and comfortable beds, this place is hard to beat. Very comfortable."

"This house set among an apple orchard with spectacular views of Blue Hill exudes charm and is steeped in family tradition. Perfect location convenient to the quaint village with all the services needed. Enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. We will definitely return to this lovely vacation home."

  • Perfect Maine Getaway

"This cottage was an ideal size for the two of us and our dog. Having a private beach just steps from the house was absolutely the best part. We walked the shoreline during low tide, swam during hide tide, and had fires on the beach at night. Acadia National Park is only a 45 minute drive away and coming back after a long hike or a day in Bar Harbor to this peaceful setting was simply perfect. We grilled on the back deck most nights and the kitchen is stocked with any supplies you would need. Dee was very accommodating to us and prompt in her responses from the day we booked until the day we left!"
