  • Women celebrating 60 years!

"As a group of women all turning 60 this year we wanted a memorable vacation; we started in Boston and finished the last few days at the Orchard House. We loved the home's layout, the large, bright bedrooms and amenities included. The kitchen was great as a few in the group love to cook-the large dining room table worked well for dinner and card games. The mix of art and pictures in the home are interesting and fun. The home is secluded yet accessible to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Trish was an attentive host throughout the booking process and on our arrival. If you have a large group/family and want to be near the attractions on Mt. Desert Island, stay here!"

  • Fabulous House!

"We loved this house, and would recommend it for so many reasons. My favorite spot was the deck off the kitchen. Wine in hand, we snacked and chatted there every night, watching the sun go down. It's the epitome of relaxation. We cooked for ourselves most nights, as our days were so full of hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen has everything you'd want. Five of us shared the house, but it's huge and never felt crowded. Lots of space downstairs for everyone to watch the game or whatever is on TV. We stayed for five nights - which was perfect. There are many things to do and see. The island is small, so it's a short drive to get anywhere, but we loved that the house felt remote. It's on the "quiet side" of the island. From the house, you can walk down to a little path that's part of the nature preserve, reaching the shore within 30 minutes at most. The shady trails looked like fairies could pop out at any moment. There are many other trails close by, and the beautiful Echo Lake is just minutes away. We enjoyed a lobster dinner at Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor, but my favorite meal was lobster rolls at Thurston's Lobster Pound down in Bernard at the tip of the western part of the island. Don't hesitate. This is a terrific place to stay."

  • Great Place to Stay on the Island!

"I was very impressed with the amount of detail and quality with the accommodations and amenities. The yurt was completely comfortable in the the 50 degree damp foggy weather. The extra touches of spices, oil, a knife set, start-up coffee and tea, quality paper towels and green cleaning supplies all contributed to my stay being that much better. Aaron and Karen have definitely put a lot of heart and soul into their property. I highly recommend staying at the Acadia Yurts!"

  • Great location and beautiful home!

"We loved our stay at Nancy's. The house is walking distance to downtown and the water. It's also conveniently located to Acadia National Park. We had a great time exploring the area, but also hanging in cooking dinner in the beautiful kitchen, unwinding with a puzzle and reading on the front porch. Nancy was very responsive and the home had everything you would need for a great getaway! Thank you for sharing your home!!"
