  • Enjoyed our stsy at the Parker House.

"If you are in this neck of woods, you owe it to yourself to.consider the Parker House! I can't think of anything that wasn't provided. Well stocked kitchen with staples and cookware. Nothing was missing. We had a small problem with the wifi connection, but John was on top of it super fast. The house was welcoming and warm. Loved all of the antiques throughout the house. Our dogs took advantage of the huge backyard. Tons of space to run and play. I highly recommend staying at the Parker House."

  • Peacefulness abounds in this beautiful home!

"My three children and I stayed at this property for a week in August. We had such a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and so well equipped. Everything you could possibly need is there. The kitchen is fitted for actual cooking, linens and towels are provided. The house is also spotlessly clean which I appreciate above everything else. My two boys are teenagers and used the downstairs bedrooms with the bathroom down there. My daughter and I used the upstairs rooms. Everyone loved having their own space while still being together. The house is well stocked with DVD's, games, and books. Two of my kids spent hours in the evenings playing chess and I loved seeing them so focused on something non electronic. The outside shower is an absolute dream, there is nothing like showering outside on a beautiful summer morning. The house location is very private and incredibly quiet and peaceful. We found the location of the property to be excellent for exploring many areas of Maine. We went all over the Blue Hill Peninsula and we drove up to Mount Desert Island quite a few times. It is an easy drive away of just about one hour. Acadia National Park is absolutely breathtaking. The owners clearly take a great deal of pride in their property. Sally is extremely pleasant and helpful. She is very responsive and sent us a detailed email with ideas of places to go and restaurants to eat at. I have rented many places and she was by far the most friendly and helpful owner I have ever dealt with. I would not hesitate to return here and often think longingly of our peaceful week in Maine!"

  • Excellent and Authentic Maine Wedding Venue

"My husband and I hosted our far-flung family at Edgehill for a week in early August that culminated in our wedding celebration. People are still talking about how amazing Edgehill was as a location, and there are even hopes to return every year for a family reunion! The rambling house is big enough for everyone and gives you plenty of options for gathering in large groups or small, and even for catching some alone time when needed. Our days were full of local adventures: day trips to Acadia and Four Seasons Farm, fishing in the mill pond, hikes in the woods and along the blueberry fields, and daily walks down to the ocean for swimming, kayaking, and tidepool adventuring. We had around 17 people staying at the house and another 10 people staying at a house next door and we hosted nightly dinners at Edgehill for everyone! Having two kitchens was helpful, but the main kitchen was large enough to comfortably prep meals for the group. Our wedding ceremony was held in the woods down by the pond, and all of our guests agreed that it was a magical location. Our reception was held in the barn, with seated table service for just under 50. This was followed by a Contra dance. The setting of the barn was so charming for the party, and during the week it provided plenty of entertainment for the children and teenagers in our group (particularly the rope swing and basketball hoop). Margeret was a pleasure to correspond with, and helped us in making our stay pleasant and stress-free. While we were there there was no internet, but we hear from Margaret that this may be changing soon. While having wi-fi would have been convenient at times, we loved unplugging when there and there were no complaints from our large family - even from the very plugged-in teenagers! Margaret was kind enough to lead us to locations nearby where we could use wi-fi when needed, and this turned out to be the perfect solution. We feel so lucky that we found Edgehill for our celebration, and that it will, hopefully, be a part of future family vacations."
