  • Beautiful home and location.

"Cook's Cottage was a great place to stay for our family of 10. We loved the sitting room, as you have a terrific view of the harbor. Just a walk down the street to the ferry that takes you to Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is about an hour drive - more if traffic is heavy, but totally worth the drive. Do the whale and puffin watch in the morning. We saw two humpbacks breaching, and the puffins were adorable. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed."

  • Time Stood Still

"My husband and I cherished our visit! The decorum and essence of the home were hospitable and inviting. It's hard to explain but it felt as if the sunrises over the ocean and the sounds of the water, along with the beauty of the surrounding woods and the solitude therein changed our sense of time. We adventured through the countrysides antiquing and light house hunting. We visited Acadia and spent a day hiking, which was probably my favorite experience! We savored blueberry pie, and admired the art and beauty of the Blue Hill area. We left Surry with some of the mundane of life washed away by the breathtaking beauty of Down East!"

  • Great Vacation Find

"What a great vacation find! Having been to Maine several times as a family to visit lighthouses (Coast Guard military service background), we were delighted with the location and small village atmosphere at nearby Winter Harbor/Gouldsboro. Being tucked away in such a private setting was great. We felt like we had discovered a hidden lodge with all the amenities you could ever want. We enjoyed cooking together in the well-appointed kitchen, taking walks in the beautifully landscaped surroundings, and generally just kicking back. Of course, enjoying the heart-stopping view was the best thing going. The only negative to our trip was not seeing a real moose!"

  • Quaint and clean

"The owners are very kind. Winter Harbor is a quaint small town. Schoodic Peninsula is beautiful. The condo is small for a large group but perfect for four or 5. If children are involved, it can sleep more. It was nice to see a lovely part of Maine."
