  • Perfect Location!

"If you're looking for a beautiful, spacious home just minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, you have found it. Nestled among the towering trees, the spacious deck with its fire pit, barbecue grill, and peekaboo glimpses of the water makes it difficult to leave. In fact, you'll find yourself looking forward to coming "home" after a day of exploring the island. We picked wild blueberries behind the house and made our way down to the shore during low tide. And, if you plan to prepare meals at home, this kitchen lacks nothing. The 3rd floor deck off the master bedroom provides another inviting space for morning coffee with its glimpses of the waters below. For travelers staying in the fall and winter months, I'm sure the views are amazing! We stayed in the very hot month of July and were thankful for the air conditioning in the master bedroom. Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing your treasure with us. Our family sure hopes to return one day!"

  • Ideal getaway!!!

"My husband and I have been going to Mt. Desert Island for over 45 years to enjoy the spectacular ocean walks and views, mountains, and lakes that the island offers. As much as we loved our twice (or thrice) annual trips to Acadia, the noisy motels/hotels and long restaurant lines were becoming tiresome and diminished our level of enjoyment. We'd often rented cottages elsewhere but had never found a cottage in the Bar Harbor area that we liked until we stumbled upon Paul's Cottage. What we ideally had wanted was a cottage on the ocean with a fireplace that offered both privacy and easy access to Acadia Park. After spending a fall and spring week in Paul's Cottage this past year, we have found it a perfect fit for us, offering many amenities including the following. - situated right on the shore with stunning westerly island and sunset views - welcoming, friendly, and accommodating owners (available but not intrusive) - a large updated kitchen not wanting for anything - fresh lobster and other seafood, produce, groceries, etc. available within a short drive - very good restaurants (especially in season) if desired - Acadia Park sites within easy driving distance - various books and games to enjoy by the huge fireplace (endless supply of firewood available) or on the spacious deck overlooking the water - the Southwest Harbor Library issues guest passes for non-residents for supplemental reading choices We are very much looking forward to our two-week stay this fall and are considering a winter visit at some point."

  • A perfect centrally located home for the active vacationer.

"My family has been coming to John and Percilla's Garden Court for about 6 years now. They are the kindest and most helpful renters. From oiling or bike chains, to helping secure my bike rack to making suggestions about what to do, giving us blueberries, Maine Maple syrup and chips. John is a carpenter and is so capable of keeping this property up to par which he does. From this property it is just minutes to the best rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and biking. Bartlet landing is minutes away, we found several lobster boats that were very happy to sell us lobsters directly off their boats for way less than at the pounds. The best star gazing is found on a 3 minute walk down Beech Hill Road. Because of this prime location, there is so little down time that you can make the most of your time away. Make sure to get a good topo map of the Island and enjoy this piece of paradise. We look forward to when we are able to visit Garden Court again. P.S. Check out the book Rock Friends of Acadia that John has sitting in the living room. My kids are on the front cover of the book."

  • Peaceful cozy cabin on a beautiful pond (lake).

"Exactly what we were expecting. Comfortable, charming. Carol and Horace are wonderful hosts. Would stay here again. Loved renting kayaks from The Activity Center out of Blue Hill. Just call them up and they will deliver and pick up the kayaks at a very reasonable price. Loved the chatty loons at dusk and into the evening."
