  • Perfect Place for our family of 4

"The Kelley's Guest House had the perfect amount of space for our family. The unit was laid out perfectly for us to thoroughly enjoy our time and not get into each other's way. The decorations and furniture made you feel at home. The outfitting of the unit was great for us and our small dog. It was great to be able to take our dog and by the middle of the week, she was heading out to potty without us feeling apprehensive. There is a perfect little yard for them to run and take care of business. We loved that the house is NOT right in town! Town is SO busy. Sue & Mike gave us great suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area and they are VERY laid back. It was nice to have access to the laundry! While we were there, we enjoyed hiking, the beautiful sites, restaurants, ocean kayaking, shopping, etc. Our kids are 20 & 17 and they both said it was one of their favorite vacations. Thanks again for making our stay so enjoyable!"

  • excellent secluded seaside cottage

"The place is really nicely designed and an all around great Maine seaside experience. All exposed wood and stone. Feels rustic but still very comfortable. And the beds were comfy, which can be hard to find in rustic styled places. Though the cottage itself is not huge, (bedrooms are quite small), the living and dining area feels expansive with high ceiling in sections and plenty of room to settle in. The natural beauty of the location is hard to beat, with lots of wide flat rock area on which to hang out by the sea, literally steps from the cottage. You can stroll outside with your morning coffee and watch the ocean (we saw a seal swim by one morning), or hang out at night and have a fire at the fire pit. The way the house is situated, you cannot see the neighboring houses from the property or even from the seaside rocks in the immediate vicinity of the house until you walk out a bit, so it's very private, but with great ocean views in several directions due to being out on a corner of the peninsula. Back to the rustic part, it's definitely a seaside cottage with a few aging quirks, such as screen doors that may not seal perfectly, which let a few flies in, and some makeshift window screens. These add to the charm of the place for the most part, but I suppose someone looking for all out structural perfection could consider them a pan. The place does feel like a natural addition to the surrounding rocks and ocean. I would definitely come back to this place for a peaceful and secluded seaside retreat! Note - the rocks and ocean immediately in front of the cottage do not lend themselves well to actually entering the water, but a few hundred yards away is a rocky beach that could accommodate water entry for kayaks or even swimming (closed toe water shoes would be recommended and the water will be cold of course)."

  • Quiet, out of the way very clean. Excellent communication with the host prior to stay.

"Very quiet comfortable sleeping for two. The hosts were very pleasant, were very helpful and we had great conversations. The bed was soft and the home was very quiet, we slept great. It was a nice area with shopping and restaurants close. Would stay again."

  • Cozy, quaint cottage in an amazing location

"We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Maria's cottage. The property is exactly as advertised with a ton of great amenities and located very close to SW Harbor. Kitchen is fully stocked with every cooking apparatus you could need. Washer/dryer is a great bonus, especially with kids. To top it all off, the owners purchased a treat for me since we arrived on my birthday. Very thoughtful and definitely above and beyond what we expected. I would absolutely recommend staying at this property if you have young kids, a dog and like living close to the 'action' of SW Harbor."
