  • Great house! Great location!

"We had a fantastic vacation. The house had everything we needed, and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to the many restaurants in town in about 10 minutes. The owners were great to work with. I hope to come back next year and would love to stay here again!"

  • The view was spectacular! The cabin was charming, warm and cozy. Beyond our expectations!

"If you're looking for an abundance of beauty, serenity, and nature surrounding a charming treetop cabin this is the place for you! Acadia National Park called to us daily for hiking, biking and mountain climbing. Bar harbor was a 50 minute drive. We shopped, dined and took a trolley tour. John and Carol thank you for your hospitality. We will be back!!! Marcie and Danny, Dunmore, Pa."

  • Great Place in a Great Location!

"We were surprised no one had reviewed this lovely rental home before we stayed here. It made us wonder if there was something wrong with it. I am very happy to say there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, we fell in love with it! Five us us (hubby and I plus 3 adult children) stayed here for a week of hiking, biking, and canoeing. This is a high quality home built in a location central to the "quiet" side and not so quiet side of Mount Desert Island. It took us only about 20 minutes to get to Bar Harbor and about the same to get to our favorite Lobster pound, Thurston's, in Bernard. The home sits in a quiet neighborhood and feels very secluded even though there are neighbors nearby. There were no photos of the rear deck and yard, but there is a deck. Its not huge, but it was plenty big enough to hold the 5 of us and had a table and chairs plus a few extra chairs. The grill worked great and we enjoyed watching the deer and woodpeckers while we stayed for a few dinners. Tall birch and pines surround the house and deck and abound with deer, many birds, and plenty of wildlife. It was a great place to sit out and drink our morning coffee or enjoy an evening glass of wine. The kitchen was well stocked and the family room had lots of books, games, and music to entertain us during some of our quieter evenings. The bedrooms were very roomy and quiet. The beds were very comfortable! Plenty of towels and washcloths were provided for both bathrooms. We will definitely see if this home is available to rent the next time we get up that way. We highly recommend it!"

  • Wonderful birthday week!

"What a wonderful place to spend my 60th birthday with my family. ! We had gorgeous weather and when we were not out adventuring on the island we were on the deck. The deck was our evening meeting place and allowed us to look out over the yard where the grandchildren and adults were playing. The large room on the back of the house fit us all when we had a family sing along! It was in close proximity to Acadia entrance and Bar Harbor, as well as just a 10 min walk to Hulls Cove to collect "treasures". Would rent it again in a heartbeat!"
