  • Lovely home in quiet, serene setting

"We absolutely loved our entire experience on Mount Desert Island and our stay at this lovely home. The house was very well maintained and spotlessly clean, and the grounds/gardens were beautiful. The location was close to the visitor center for Acadia National Park; we drove there most days and took the Island Explorer shuttle to various hiking destinations. While we enjoyed the Bar Harbor restaurants, it was nice to be located on the quiet side of the island, away from the crowds. We hope to come back soon!"

  • Fantastic Cottage Location

"My husband and I had the privilege of spending a week at this amazing cottage. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful place to vacation, look no further. "Stone Beach" is perfect for two people. Grant and Becky could not have been nicer hosts. They were very informative about where to eat and what to do while visiting Mount Desert Island. Our favorite restaurant was Thurston's in Bernard. The granite bathroom is exceptionally nice. The king bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed watching the deer in the yard every morning while eating breakfast and walking the seawall. We highly recommend staying here!"

  • Best spot in Bar Harbor

"I can't say enough good things about this house. This is our 5th VRBO and one of the best. Communication with Sean was easy, fast, and accurate. He's very helpful and knows a lot about the area. He always got back to me right away with any questions and checked in on us to be sure we had everything we needed. Location: AWESOME. Walking distance to all things! We walked to the grocery store, walked to breakfast, dinner, shopping. We could have walked to the shuttles, but we're sunrise people so didn't do that. Kitchen: Fully stocked and well kept. We didn't end up cooking much (so much to do!), but easily could have. Everything was very clean. It's a small thing, but I liked having water in the fridge door. We refill water bottles a lot, so that was very helpful. Sleeping: We were 4 people, two couples. My folks (in their 60's) had the master bedroom/bathroom upstairs and had plenty of space to spread out. We took the loft off the living room. The pictures don't do it justice. The bed is very comfortable, the room below had plenty of space for our stuff. The house is very quiet so we didn't hear each other. I was concerned about this a little since the master seating area overlooks the kitchen and our doors lead to the living room, but there was no issue at all. I also never heard the person on the first floor. I know they were there, but couldn't hear a thing. Hanging out: The kitchen table is big and a natural gathering place. The size of the kitchen makes this an easy thing to accommodate so we could be making breakfast and hanging out together. The sofas in the living room are very, very comfortable. The entryway was great for taking off rainy shoes and jackets before heading upstairs. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow for sitting on the deck, but it looked like a great spot! Only semi-downside is that there is only one parking space off-street. When we arrived on a Saturday night, there wasn't much street parking so our second car just blocked the driveway (after we parked in it). That was the only day we had any problem finding street parking right at the house. Not an issue, just something to know. If you're looking at staying in Bar Harbor with a few people, this is a great choice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • Great location, very clean

"We spent 5 days on Mt Desert Island & enjoyed every minute of it. We were 6 adults & one child. We had plenty of room in the house. Well stocked with pots & pans. We enjoyed using the fire pit. The owner, Jim, responds quickly via email. We hiked in Acadia, visited Bar Harbor, & the other harbors. Definitely try Trenton Bridge Lobster while you're there!"
