  • Amazing Experience close to town

"I stayed at Stephen's apartment this past week while I was in town for a photo workshop at Acadia National Park and so glad that I chose this apartment. Not only was it nicely renovated and had off street parking, it was super convenient to town (just a few blocks walk to anything) and the national park. It's right in Bar Harbor so whenever we were doing things in town we didn't even need to drive. The apartment is very well kept and clean and a great relaxing place to come back to after exploring the nearby area. Everything was perfect, we didn't need to reach out to Stephen for anything during our stay. If you do decide to stay here are some highlights from our visit. There's a beautiful full kitchen in the condo with a supermarket only a block away but we found ourselves trying many of the local restaurants. Best breakfast spot was Cafe this Way (both the french toast and Mcthisway big breakfast sandwich were delicious), our favorite lunch/dinner spots were the Side Street Cafe and Pork Nation. Also, if you're looking for a great boat tour, the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co runs an amazing lighthouse tour, it's 3 hours and passes 5 light houses. On top of all that Acadia National Park was only a few minute drive away, and we went on some great hikes."

  • All the comforts of home!

"Patten Bay Chalet is everything we had read about and more. Dealing with Mac to secure the rental was so easy and attended to beyond what I expected. It was pleasant talking with the owner prior to our arrival. I informed Mac we were traveling with two chefs and that an equipped kitchen was a must. We were assured it was and that proved to be absolutely accurate. The home was perfectly sized for the seven of us. We had plenty of room to spread out as well as sufficient space to all hang out together. We had stayed on Mt. Desert Island last year and were unsure if we would be as happy on the mainland. We traveled back and forth to both locations with ease For anyone looking for a quiet, convenient, bright, well equipped house for a vacation, I would highly recommend this home. Thanks to Mac and Deb for a smooth rental process and for taking the time to check in and assure that it lived up to our expectations."

  • Cozy cabin, perfect location!

"Our family just returned from a week spent in the Acadia area. Sue and Gordon's cabin made the perfect home base for our excursions to Acadia National Park. The cabin is cozy, clean, and stocked with everything you need. We even tried our hand at making lobsters over the fire pit by the beach--perfect!! The house sits right on the water with a large lawn and several trees. Each morning a flock of geese trudged in to eat any apples that might have fallen off the trees. There was even a seal in the water who came by and put on quite a show! We enjoyed looking for shells and other sea creatures during low tide. The cabin has a secluded feel, yet is conveniently located just a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor. We would highly recommend staying in this lovely home if you are visiting the area. You won't be disappointed!! Thank you, Sue and Gordon, for sharing your wonderful home with us!!"

  • Well-appointed getaway on the quiet side.

"We had a lovely stay at Seamist. Robin is an amazing host, and she patiently answered many questions, always very quickly. The home is very comfortable, and we enjoyed evenings on the couch with the fireplace going. There were just two of us, plus our little Italian greyhound. We rented the home because we needed a well appointed kitchen, and we got that in spades. Robin has thought of everything. It is also very nice that the home is stocked with basic supplies such as foil, plastic wrap, detergent, and tissues. The house was spotless, and it also had a good supply of books and other information about the area. We were very fortunate with the weather, arriving at peak color season. Acadia National Park was just spectacular! After leaving I realized that I had left three scarves in the closet, and Robin shipped them back to me the next day. I can't recommend Seamist and its extremely accommodating owners highly enough. We would definitely recommend this home to friends and family, and we hope to have a chance to return in the future."
