  • Lovely, comfortable stay in an ideal location!

"We had a terrific stay at Birdsong! The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and clean, and it was perfect for our family - 2 adults, 2 kids (11 & 8) and a large dog. We visit MDI every summer and enjoy relaxing on the quiet side, but also spend a lot of time inside the park. We were looking for a more central location to minimize driving time and couldn't have imagined a more ideal spot! Very close to Long Pond and Somes Pond for kayaking and swimming. Another nearby bonus is Beech Hill Farm, where you can get fresh and delicious food to enjoy while winding down at the cabin. Lisa is friendly and responsive and has provided lots of useful information at the cabin. We highly recommend Birdsong and hope to be back!"

  • Wonderful house with fabulous view and water/shore access

"We spent a fun-filled week in Maine and are so glad to have stayed at this house in Trenton. It is comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay to feel like a home away from home. We brought our kayaks and spent most mornings on the water exploring or just taking in the beauty of the area. In the afternoons we were a quick drive away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The whole family loved our time in Trenton and we hope to come back again. Thanks to Kay for making the whole experience so easy and welcoming!"

  • All the comforts of home!

"Patten Bay Chalet is everything we had read about and more. Dealing with Mac to secure the rental was so easy and attended to beyond what I expected. It was pleasant talking with the owner prior to our arrival. I informed Mac we were traveling with two chefs and that an equipped kitchen was a must. We were assured it was and that proved to be absolutely accurate. The home was perfectly sized for the seven of us. We had plenty of room to spread out as well as sufficient space to all hang out together. We had stayed on Mt. Desert Island last year and were unsure if we would be as happy on the mainland. We traveled back and forth to both locations with ease For anyone looking for a quiet, convenient, bright, well equipped house for a vacation, I would highly recommend this home. Thanks to Mac and Deb for a smooth rental process and for taking the time to check in and assure that it lived up to our expectations."

  • Thankful Cottage - a wonderful retreat

"Sherry and Ivan Rasmussen have restored this historic home into a delightful refuge. My sister and I agreed we had stepped into our own little home. Set back from West Street along the bustling harbor, Thankful Cottage is in a great location, giving guests access to everything Bar Harbor has to offer: You are in the midst of Acadia National Park -- able to enjoy the beauty of the water and the land. We strongly recommend this as the perfect get away. We enjoyed walking around town, listening to the town band, eating fresh lobster, whale watching and sea kayaking. Sherry and Ivan provided plenty of information for us to experience Bar Harbor to the fullest, and they go out of the way to address every question or concern you may have. Though my sister and I traveled to Bar Harbor to visit family and spend time outside hiking and exploring the harbor, we are also avid fans of the Olympics. One of my former students was competing in Rio and Sherry made sure that the cable TV in the cottage was in tip top working order. We are most thankful for a wonderful week and have already signed-up to return next summer."
