  • Perfect location

"We were 2 60-somethings and 3 young adults. We knew Mount Desert Island from previous weekend trips to Maine, but we'd always stayed in a hotel in Bar Harbor. This was a much better plan. The house was perfect for us. We spent our trip hiking in Acadia. So happy to be away from the tourist crush in Bar Harbor, yet within an easy drive of the park and all of Mount Desert's restaurants. The layout of good kitchen plus dining and living areas meant we had plenty of space to hang out together."

  • Simply Perfect

"Coming from Florida in the middle of the hot and humid summer, our family was looking for an idyllic farmhouse close to major sites, like Acadia, but tucked away just enough. We found this home to be a delightfully charming Maine farmhouse! We had 3 adults and 2 children (6 and 1.5), and we all had more than enough space. The kids loved all of the little details of the home, especially the nooks and crannies. There are 2 sets of stairs, but both can be blocked off with closed doors, so the home is absolutely safe for young toddlers. The backyard is large and quiet, and is perfect for evening activities. The home is close to everything!! Acadia, Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula are all within easy access, and there are plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and shops within about a 15 minute drive. The owners are kind and welcoming -Ray had wonderful suggestions for us, and was very accommodating. Don't leave without cooking your own lobsters-and definitely follow Ray's suggestion on where to buy!! We felt at home immediately, and we were sad to leave-we will be back!!"

  • Fantastic home for family!

"We had such a great time in this home! Plenty of room, fully stocked kitchen, and such a comfortable and welcoming and beautiful place! We had 7 adults and a baby and had plenty of room! And the location was perfect! So glad we did not stay in Bar Harbor where everything is so touristy. We kayaked on a nearby pond, hiked on nearby trails, loved the little village town where we picked up fresh lobster to cook every night. And Suzanne was just an email away, although we didn't need a thing. Thank you - we will be back!!"

  • Adventure vacation with serene base

"We had lots of adventures in Acadia - biking, hiking, beaches, etc. It was wonderful to have Ralph and Judy's cottage as our base camp. The setting is so quiet and the yard, gardens, house are beautiful and well-maintained. The house was perfect for the four of us (two adults, two kids). We played lots of board games, pool, and bocce. We had several take out lobster dinners on the deck while watching the technicolor sunset. Ralph and Judy are very friendly and gave us great tips on what to see and do and eat - you can really tell they love their home and Acadia!"
